Dusting off the old blog

wow…has it been that long? I think it’s clear that I am not good at running any social media page.

Anyway I am back. Kinda. More of a lurker these days. I bring new art though.

I have been enjoying the new VR thief. Definitely a different experience but it works well. Wanted to do a kind of “Passing the Torch” piece.

Also I realize Magpie’s bow is not correct…but I have closed this piece so no more work.

Soooo uhhh...yeah I don’t have an excuse for being away this long (honestly I thought I was only gone for 9 months but...nope), other than work and I moved around twice. I also got a new computer that works so yay? Been working from home for awhile and let’s be honest, it hasn’t been easy for many of us especially if you are dealing with mental health struggles. Thanks for still visiting though :) THAT and I took a HUGE break from Thief....a HUGE break.  Kinda back into it so enjoy this Karras sketch, study? Playing around with values and colour.

It looks better on my monitor than my phone...so quality might differ depending on your screen.

Trying something different here; wanted to try different styles or brush strokes. I think the first pass looks alright. Lots to improve on.

But I didn’t want to leave you guys without art, so enjoy some Dark Project ending banter. I added all three versions as I am not sure what I like...the comic font was causing me some issue.

Hope everyone is doing well during these difficult times. Been working from home over the last three weeks and it’s been...trying to say the least. Haven’t done a lot of art simply because I have been kinda tired these days after work.

I did this little hermit crab to kinda get me out of the funk. Hermit crabs always work from home .

Happy 2020! Sorry I am late :) but I have art today.

Still experimenting with Vikky’s new look or at least what I am trying to go for. Originally I was only planning to do a quick sketch just to get something posted but in the end did a more finished idea. I quickly added some detail close up shots of her eye markings and skin texture

Kinda like the borderless version.

Should have given her longer hair.

Finally posting art again on this place. Also I was on vacation…

Re Design of Viktoria. I figured, it’s 2019 and she could use a little make over I think. Honestly, I have been kinda drawing her like this for about a year now with some minor changes.

She is a nymph and part of the forest and I kinda wanted her to reflect that vs just a naked green lady that can manipulate her limbs. Something different.

Side note: I know she only has red eyes when she expresses anger or even frustration, but I already had too much green/brown in this that it kinda muddled together. I guess I could have given her greenish red (which they kinda are as it is red overlaying green), or even lovely blue ones! That might have been interesting.

So I re logged back into my DA account....5 friggin’ years later...

I don’t know how I feel being back in here other than I feel like I let a lot of people down, and I don’t know how to fix it.

I painted that one greenhouse from Life of the Party. You know, the one with the gas arrow and the friendly spider? I liked that greenhouse, it was comfy.

Been awhile eh?

Soooo a number of my Thief art got flagged as "explicit". XD I mean if you can call a shirtless Karras "explicit" then alright. Sorry if you guys are missing any art you may have favorited in the past :(

Work and overal life has been busy so updates have been slow (that and you know....Tumblr hasn't been that fun for art as of late). I do work a full time job and this is more of a weekend thing. When I have time...and not yelling at bills. ><

Happy 20 years of taffing around! The Thief franchise has reached its 20th anniversary!

…as of November 30th. Hopefully the series continues to grow and experiment with the universe and we see it expand to other media.
