A small neko boy was huddled up in an alley, trying his best to keep warm in the snow.

She was on her way home from the guild, half-empty bottle clutched in her hand as she took the all-too-familiar route to her apartment. The card mage passed by an alley, just barely catching faint movement in her peripheral vision. Curiosity getting the better of her, she stopped. Her dark eyes narrowed as she attempted to get a better look at whatever was curled up in the narrow pathway. “Who’s there?”

The card mage froze, having felt someone smack her rear as she went to grab another barrel of booze. “Oi, oi, what’s the big idea?”

She turned to see Gray, glaring at him. “Watch ya’ hands, stripper.”

"You could have killed someone!!!"

Cana rolled her eyes at the blonde, whirling around to face her. “But I didn’t, did I?” She replied, placing her hands on her hips. “Besides, I got the job done. Sure, the building collapsed, but there was no one inside!”

"Sheesh, you worry too much. I know what I’m doin’."

Cana calmly reached for her bottle of booze, grabbing it and lifting it slowly to check the label. She squinted, finding nothing abnormal about the drink, and concluding that this was something that had actually come from the celestial mage’s mouth. The brunette then looked back to Lucy and shrugged.

"Why the hell not."

It’s funny, how she never noticed the abundance of missions that could’ve possibly been chosen. She herself was in a stable state on the topic of jewels, though soon enough she’d decide to take another job with Natsu. Perhaps she wouldn’t have to worry about the next month! ..What a dream. “Ne, that sounds great! Maaa, I haven’t been doing much, though I’m good. It’s nice to see you in the guild     I.. wondered, why the amount of alcohol had started to decrease yet again..”

Cana snickered at Lucy's last statement, lifting her arm to show the near-empty bottle of whiskey clutched in her hand. She sloshed its contents around as she smugly replied, "That's my doin', alright. Nobody here can put down barrels quite like me." The brunette sighed, letting her arm fall back to her side after a quick swig of alcohol. "Glad to hear you're doing alright. With all the chaos that goes on 'round here, you can never be too sure. How's that partner o'yours?"

It’s been a while, since she’s seen the brunette before her, and a warm smile planted itself upon her face. “Ohaiyo, Cana! It’s been so long; what have you been doing?”

Cana smiled in return, elated to see her guildmate in one piece. It really had been a while since they'd spoken. It seemed as if there was always a job to take these days, though the card mage couldn't complain about the extra jewels. "Jobs, mainly." She scratched the back of her head as she continued, "The guild re-earnin' its popularity really has us swamped. Anyways, how've you been?"
