Since yesterday, we have witnessed with our own eyes the beginning of a new famine in Gaza, and the outbreak of war with Iran is a contributing factor.

Border crossings closed, food disappeared from markets, and prices skyrocketed to catastrophic levels.

And I sat watching from afar ...

When do we die?

When will we be free from this pain?

Today is the first day the border with Egypt has opened on a trial basis.

We do not know if it will remain open.

But for the first time since the war began, there is a fragile chance.

A chance to seek proper medical care for my father.

My father has been ill since the beginning of the war.

He has been living on painkillers while his condition worsened.

Doctors now say he urgently needs advanced medical tests

and surgery on the arteries leading to his brain.

If the border remains open, we may finally be able to find treatment outside Gaza.

If it closes again, this chance may disappear.

At the same time, my family and I still have no source of income.

We are struggling every day to afford food, water, electricity, and basic necessities.

Medical care, travel, and treatment bring additional costs we cannot manage alone.

Sadly, in Gaza even basic food and medical supplements are hard to find or impossible to afford. My sister condition could deteriorate at any moment due to malnutrition and anemia. i cannot emphasize how much it sucks that people in movies don’t look real anymore. like conventionally attractive people have always been cast more as leads but up until like a decade ago they had visible age lines and textured skin and double chins and imperfect teeth. like whenever i’m feeling insecure i just have to watch a regular movie from the 70s and remind myself that im actually not unhygienic and disgusting for having teeth that are a little yellow and visible pores

Every day I am devastated by what I see from Gaza, sickened by the things that have become "business as usual": the massacres, the sheer scale of the destruction, the mass graves, the dead children. it is not only this. the fact of the matter is that Netanyahu and the Israeli government have been able to constantly continue and escalate the assault on Gaza. This has been fueled by the denial of the genocide by the ruling class and the disavowal of the genocide by the civilian population of the so called "global west." what a horrifying picture. it is of cruelty and insult to personhood; total dehumanization of the Palestinian people.
