In the new house you found a secret door with a staircase going deep down, which physically could not be there. And a note: "DO NOT GO DOWN." Fifty years later, living out a lonely and sad old age, you decided that you had nothing left to lose anyway.
"Wait, so you're telling me that you don't have a secret identity, that's just straight up your full legal name?" "Yeah. All the other superheroes have cover names, pseudonyms or similar, so everyone just assumes that mine is the same."
The hero is fighting a powerful, but strangely erratic, evil wizard. He has him on the ropes, when a younger wizard shows up, sets everything to right, and apologizes for his grandfather, who has dementia. The hero ends up helping the younger wizard care for his grandfather.
"Y'know, I was never told your rules for hospitality, nor did I agree to them. To punish me for breaking your rules would be extremely rude of you, right? Why am I the one being labelled as inhospitable and not you?" It was a simple question, yet it being asked threw fae society into mass panic.
A goddess needed a hero from our world to save her world, she didn't wanted to make her fellow goddesses mistakes and pick a random highschool student or otaku, so instead, she summoned a forth a world champion powerlifter and bodybuilder.
It's not a name, I'm not immortal, and while I am very good at what I do, if-when I die, they got some other poor shmuck ready to be my replacement, it's a title so no that's not my name. I look up and see my companions shocked expressions.
When people die, they must cross a desert that is long and dangerous to get to heaven. Salespeople sell methods of transportation from luxury jets to rusty wheelchairs depending on how good the person was in their life. The better they were, the better their transportation.
You are a legendary blacksmith, sought out for your ability to fix anything. Talking swords, obsidian breastplates, staves made of crystal, daggers forged from dragon scales, you've done it all. The real challenge today is a young hero asking you to fix what they call their 'plot armor'.
"You have broken the rules of hospitality mortal you are now mine." Says the Fae. Unbenownst to it however, you are a homeless Vampire and this isn't actually your dwelling.
You were a whimsical god of festivals and jubilees. The gods were called to protect the mortal realm from the terror beyond the stars. You are one of the few survivors. You return to find your followers persecuted and temples ruined. You are not the god they remember, but are the god they need.
"So if you win the duel, you get to take her on a date." They both nodded. "And if she wins the duel, she gets to take you on a date." They both nodded. "So why don't you both just... Skip that and go on a date?" They both glared.
You shamefully utter your cowardly wish as silently as you can while still being audible, feeling immensely guilty. Suddenly, you hear a voice whisper in your ear "OK, I know I'm supposed to grant whatever you wish for, but fuck that we're doing this instead."
Once again you see Soldiers marching towards your Home. And once again, you groan in annoyance and grab your Spear. "Just because you bring more Men every time, doesn't mean I will give up my Daughter to the Prince." you greet the General and your Pupil, leading the Soldiers.
Everyone is born with a timer on their wrist counting down to the moment they meet their soulmate. Your timer just hit zero, but you're currently completely alone in an elevator that just got stuck between floors.
An alien shape-shifting spy infiltrates a sentient being smuggling ring. Amongst the prisoners, a peculiar creature is secretly organizing a revolt. “Just where are you from,” the astonished spy asks the would-be rebel leader. She simply replies, “Earth.”
Several "silent protagonist" type adventurers are getting on the guilds nerves with their refusal to speak, so in an attempt to teach them a lesson the guild leadership forces them to team up. Much to the guilds annoyance they all manage to work together flawlessly in spite of never speaking.
It is the year 2502. One day radio telescopes receive a message: "hey... this is really embarrassing but we haven't contacted you for the last 500 years because no one thought your planet is inhabitable. It's full of oxygen and water, both of which are extremely corrosive".
