In order to get a better idea of AI potential in education, I have been conducting research. This video is a brief overview of my findings to date. Intelligent Tutoring Systems – AI/Chatbot programs commonly referred to as adaptive tutors engage students in dialogue, answer questions, and provide feedback. Personalizing Learning - ITS and adaptive tutors tailor learning material, pace, sequence, and difficulty to each student’s needs. Testing - Computer adaptive assessments adjust the difficulty of successive questions based on the accuracy of the student’s answers, enabling more precise identification of a student’s mastery level. Automating Tasks - AI can perform routine tasks such as taking attendance, grading assignments, and generating test questions. Simplifying Administrative Tasks – Grading Assignments, Accessing Work, Providing Feedback and Consistent Messaging. Smart Content – Video Conferencing, Video Lecture, Custom Digital Content such as digital text books, audios and videos with Cram101 and Netex Learning. Global Learning - AI can help to eliminate boundaries. Facilitating the learning of any course from anywhere across the globe and at any time. Course Improvement – Teachers may not always be aware of gaps in their lectures and educational materials that can leave students confused about certain concepts. Coursera alerts instructors to a large number of students getting an answer wrong. Student Improvement – AI systems monitor student progress and to alert instructors when there might be an issue with student performance. Content Improvement – AI systems monitor content and alert students and instructors to content changes. by Kevin Brake
