A few wandering souls..
She was honored to meet him. Sam felt a warmness rise to his face, knowing that most likely it was gradually turning to a pink color. He rose from his bow, looking up at her with a sheepish smile, his fingers fiddling with eachother nervously. “That’s awful kind, ma’am! It’d be nice if you could tell me where I could find some water.”
Tauriel continued smiling as Sam turned pink. He was a rather sweet hobbit. "Water? Hold on one moment," she explained before turning her back on Sam and heading towards the old oak tree where they kept a jug of water and a couple of glasses carefully hidden out of sight. Grabbing the two glasses she walked back over to the hobbit and poured the water into the glasses and then handed it back to her new companion. "Here you go," she offered, wearing a friendly smile. "Could you tell me about your homeland, Master Samwise. I've heard tales about it from Gandalf; however, I have never visited your homeland before."
A meeting
Hurry, a dwarf could do, but quiet? Kili tried to hide his amused expression but accidentally let out a chuckle “I.. Uh.. Seems simple enough” He said, trying to remain serious and on task. They continued walking, an hour had past and he hadn’t said a word; to Kili it seemed as though they had been walking in a circle since the forest all looked the same to him, he was getting awfully frustrated by it “Are we making any progress?!” The dwarf asked rather anxiously, in any case he probably seemed paranoid, which he was because didn’t like how never-ending the forest was.
The two made their way through the darkness of the forest until finally they came to an open place. The only thing that accompanied the two were the noises of the night. Tauriel stopped all of the sudden when Kili asked her the question. She had heard something unusual. It was not an owl hoot nor the rattling of the leaves in the wind. The noise sounded like laughter and it was coming from their right. "Yes, we are. I heard something.. Sounded like laughter. It's coming from over there," she began, pointing to the right as she met Kili's eyes with her own. "Did you hear it too?"
"In the end, Tauriel, I won the race. Even though we got ambushed by spiders, I was the first one to enter the clearing." Legolas huffed, thinking back to their race.
Tauriel frowned slightly as she remembered their race. Yes, he was going to rub it in now. Very nice Legolas.. "Yes, you did. Congrats, my friend," she added as she held her hand out to him. "Well done. You truly are the best at races." The she-elf paused as she thought about the spiders. "Legolas. I'm worried. There have been more and more giant spiders coming into Mirkwood each day. It's unnerving."

Kíli laughed and shook his head. “You are mistaken. The mountain of which you speak is Erebor, the Lonely Mountain. I head to the Misty Mountains, the range that separates this region from Eriador.” The Dwarf didn’t pay much mind to her slip for she was an Elf and used to the Elvish names for such places. But the name of Smaug had landed itself in every tongue it seemed. The bowman gritted his teeth at the thought of the beast, basking in the wealth of the Durin’s Folk, violating the halls his ancestors had carved for their descendants to rule and reside.
“Well for one, I did not expect to be greeted in such a friendly manner.” he replied to her question. The Dwarf noted that might have also struck the Elf with his comment so quickly he tried his best to make up for it. “And I did not mean to speak out of place.”
She flushed a bright pink color. Embarrassed. "Forgive me for the mistake. I haven't ventured near any mountains in my whole life. One day, I wish to explore the mountains," she explained, looking down briefly. Misty mountains! She should have known that. "I shall take you to the Misty Mountains then."
Tauriel beamed at his friendly comment. "Oh no, no. There is no need to apologize. You did not speak out of turn," she explained. Tauriel couldn't help but wonder how Kili thought he would have been greeted. "I hope you don't mind me asking but how did your expect us elves to greet you? That is if you were prepared to run into one," she said, rather kindly.
“That’s it, right! We warned you! Prepare to be boarded!”
A few wandering souls..
The words confirming the other to be an elf casued Sam’s heart to fly a little, though he calmed himself and bowed as low as he possibly could. “Samwise. Samwise Gamgee.” He replied, still in his bowing position. “It’s a real honor, miss elf.”
Tauriel smiled warmly at the Hobbit. Her eyes widened when he bowed and her cheeks grew pinker when he informed her that it was an honor to meet her. "It is an honor to meet you, Samwise Gamgee of the Shire. You must be exhausted from your travels? Would you like to take a rest sir? May I assist you with anything?" she offered with a kind smile.
A meeting
Kili looked down at her hand then back up at her with a gentle nod to his head “All right” Kili placed his hand in hers, he knew that if he was going to somehow make it out of this forest and find his friends he’d need her help; after all, she was familiar with the area and had greater senses than himself. He let out out a sigh “All right, where to first, Lady Tauriel?” Kili was putting all his trust in this elven woman, something he didn’t do much with strangers, but with the shake of their hands, he felt somehow he could trust her easily.
She couldn't help but smile softly as Kili placed a hand on hers. His hand felt the same as hers. Once in charge again, she nodded her head briefly as he shook her hand. She was glad that he had taken her hand. She felt as if she could trust him more.. Strange. "We shall go east for that is the direction to Erebor. Your friends are probably heading in that direction. We must be quiet but we must hurry, " she explained as they turned towards East.

“I am meeting kinfolk of mine in the Misty Mountains,” Kíli told her, following her guiding footsteps, “I was to think I could take a shorter route through these woods and instead I find myself in the company of Elves.”
The Dwarf considered the thick trees and surrounding darkness; it was certainly coming to see why these woodlands had been dubbed with their name. The blackness within the trees was nothing like the sights in Dwarven halls. No this opaque world was air and open space not stone and invisible skies.
“And very lost.” Kíli finished, nearly tripping on a root after the words had left him.
He quickly recovered, mirth now stealing away the grimace of tension. “Though it sounds an odd thought, an Elf getting lost in their own wood.”
Tauriel nodded as she multitasked between keeping silent footsteps on the forest floor as well as listening to Kili. "The Misty Mountains? Isn't the dragon, Smaug, there? How will you get past him?" she asked curiously. Smaug the Terrible. The elf had never seen the dragon; however, she had heard of his reputation. "Company of Elves? How do you find the company of an elf? Different from what you expected?" she offered, curiously.
She frowned when he mentioned an elf losing their way in a wood. "It was dark and I was very young. I had wandered out past the last outpost and had found myself surrounded in darkness. I kept walking for hours until an older elf found me.." she explained, remembering that moment well. She had been so terriffied and then it of nowhere came the Prince of Mirkwood. He had rescued her that day and he would always remind her of that day.
Among the Elves | Tauriel and Pippin
“Tha’ sounds like a great deal of work,” he noted with a puzzled look. Peregrin was not quite good at working hard, due to his laziness and his keen ability to slack off in more ways than could be counted. Though, the prospect of working in the company of Elves sounded like a very exciting adventure. “Are y’sure they’d let me join? I mean…” He looked down at himself self-consciously. “I’m no’ exactly built fer archery, though I’ve never actually tried it.”
Tauriel nodded. It was a lot of work. "It's a lot of work, but its worth it," she admitted with a kind smile. She was proud of her work. Her duty was to keep her people safe and she had done so. Hobbits were lovely. They reminded her of young elven children. "Sweet Peregrin, I'm not sure if they would immediately welcome you to the guard; however, I am sure that they will give you a try," she offered with a kind smile before pausing and thought about a particular dwarf that she had met. "Well, I'm sure if a dwarf can be a good archer then you can certainly be a good one too. It takes practice, my friend."

Kili shook his head. “Nay, the dwarven women are so few we keep them safe in our cities, and we leave the defending to the males.” He grinned slightly. “Although I wager an angry woman would be a formidable enemy to attempt to take down.” he continued, chuckling a bit.
Raising his eyebrows he said, “You will? You have my thanks, Lady Tauriel.” Turning int he direction she pointed, he nodded. “Yes, that seems about right.” he stated. “I think.” he muttered under his breath.
Tauriel raised a surprised arrow. Now that was interesting indeed. "That's noble of you dwavres. The Elven men prefer women to be at home; however, there are a few of us who cant bear that idea, i'd rather die beside the one I loved than at home alone," she added. Tauriel couldnt help but smile. She chuckled. "Yes, so I've heard. Women do make quite a formidable enemy at times," she added with a slight chuckle and a shake of her head. "Have you ever had to fight one before?"
"Your welcome, sir Kili," she added with a warm smile. She shook her head slightly. Here she was walking beside a dwarf in the forest- who would have thought of such a thing? The dwarf and the elves headed off into the South of Mirkwood.
A meeting
Kili, like most dwarves, was loyal and had a willing heart, it was only in his nature to get so worried about the company and to bolt off like that. Also, being a dwarf, and a young one at that, meant that Kili wasn’t the brightest of lads, not when it came to thinking of consequences at least, which is why he hadn’t stopped and considered what might happen before running off and disturbing the forest. When he felt the hand on his shoulder he looked up at her and it was only then, had he become more aware of his surroundings. He too heard the footsteps and silently got out his bow and arrow “W- What is that…” He whispered lowly.
As the footsteps drew nearer, he also heard the trees around them cracking and rustling, his eyes widened and his eyes darted about and he thought he saw something moving near a tree. He released his arrow, it flung through the air and hit a distant tree trunk, all was now dead silent, even the footsteps had stopped.
Tauriel held her breath when she heard the noise of branches breaking. She was about to take out her bow and arrow when Kili had fired an arrow already. Silence followed the arrow. She dared not to take a breath or move. Tauriel waited patiently for a couple of minutes before glancing at Kili. Silence again. The footsteps were gone. "Good thinking.. Alright. Now let's try this again without the yelling. We will find your friends," she whispered and outstretched a hand towards him in a gesture of friendship. It was also a promise. "I promise you."
A few wandering souls..
How Sam had ended up in Mirkwood, he didn’t know. But he knew it was a dark and scary place, and one he most certainly did not want to be in. The crowd behind him was foreign to the hobbit, and so he quickly went onward in attempt to loose their trail. But seeing the elf caused him to halt, eyes widening and jaw dropping. “Well by the lady..” he whispered, looking up at Tauriel with admiration. “You’re an elf..”
Tauriel glanced at the stranger and realized that he was a halfling. She liked halflings. They were kind. She blushed as she saw the Hobbit's reaction to her. "Yes, I am an elf. You're a hobbit," she said with a warm smile. "What is your name, master Hobbit? I hope that you fare well."
“Ah, back through the glen I rode again and my heart with grief was sore For I parted then with valiant men whom I never shall see more But to and fro in my dreams I go and I’d kneel and pray for you, For slavery fled, O glorious dead, When you fell in the foggy dew.”
