“You can talk to Jack he is the bartender and he will give you what you need, I have tables to tend to” she tried again; she wanted to get past her and away from her. She had hoped Jacob didn’t see this; she didn’t need him acting all macho and risk getting injured or worse.
“What are you talking about” she said again, she had seen her look towards Jake, she stole a peek seeing him going for his sword, she cussed to herself as she knew it would get messy now.
“I don’t have to serve people who are unfriendly,” she said looking at the woman, her eyes widened as she felt the cold steel of her blade against her neck, her hand went by instinct to her stomach where Jacob’s unborn child was growing inside her. She felt the worry rise in her body, she was afraid now. She didn’t want to start a bar fight, they always got messy she had been hit a time or two in the 3 years she had worked here. But this time she had more to think about than just herself or him, she had a baby.
She tried to keep a steady calm voice “Please, you wouldn’t hurt a woman who is with child would you” she said feeling pathetic to beg for her mercy, she didn’t want work herself up to much, it was not good for her or the baby. There were few times in the past years she had felt fear, now she was scared.
She didn’t even see Jacob as he snuck up behind the woman, she saw his hand with his dagger go around her throat pressing against it, he must have something else in the other hand as she couldn’t see it. He was telling her in a very quiet voice to drop her weapon, that voice was something had learned meant he was going to do something it wasn’t just words. She could feel the steel of the bade against her neck, frozen to where she was still keeping her eyes on the Asian woman.
She swallowing hard she felt her head growing lighter by the second. She didn’t even dare to look at Jake, she had no idea what he was doing or would be doing in the next minute, she shot him a gaze, she knew she was going to faint the room to hot, she had a sword pressed against her neck, Jacob was there but someone could come up behind him and hurt him, the air filled with the scent of human sweat, vomit and alcohol something she didn’t respond well to. She tried telling Jake with her expression she wasn’t feeling well, and she might hit the floor very soon. But she trusted him enough to know she wasn’t going to die today.
