Had a chance to try out this new RPG SW game from Fantasy Flight Games, Star Wars: Edge of the Galaxy. There are 3 things I love about the game. One, the book is beautiful. Clear, glossy pages full with colorful illustrations and diagrams. I guess that's the quality you should expect from a top notch board game company. Two, the dice are just awesome. You roll colors than dice. Forget the sides of the dice, colors are were its at. Three, you get narrative control through dice. More advantages means more stuff to throw around. I'd love to play with the system more. Playing a Wookie was definitely kick ass!
Finally, got to see ELYSIUM last night. What an awesome sci-fi flick. I love the way how Blomkamp fuses the decaying cities with the more Utopic Elysium. The best thing I liked about Blomkamps films (District 9 and this movie) is that they might have dark tones and themes but are mostly shot in daylight. The infusion of bright light gives you this less depresing view of the world but in reality its this disgusting dank dark place.
Another airsoft weekend. Last Sunday we had our QM visit us from the US.Of course to celebrate his trip back we will have 2 weekeends of airsoft games.
Last weekend we played in KM14 in Sucat, Paranque. I had the chance to finally fully use the PDW GBBR (Gas blow back rifle). Unlike an AEG where in you didn't worry about reloading, racking the rifle or recoil from the gun. A GBBR felt like I was using a real rifle. Which was very cool! GBBRs though just like a real gun needs constant care meaning more maintenance. But the pros outway the cons.
Nov. 16, Outbreak Manila hosts another Outbreak Missions called the Adarna Initiative: Directors Cut. This would be my 2nd time joining Outbreak Manila.
Unlike Outbreak Manila which was a scared shit-less 5k zombie run, Outbreak Missions was more of a Live Action Role-Play (LARP) slash run.
The reg. fee was 1k which I think was not at all expensive since you get an awesome T-shirt and game folder. Oh, and you get the shirt in several sizes. They had a XL shirt option. SWEEETTTT!!!
Kudos, to the actors and prop teams for putting up an excellent theme. The zombies were creepy and realistic. OMZ did another awesome job.
I won't get into details of the game coz it'll spoil those who want to try it out. All I can say is that I'll be there next Apoclaypse for sure!
A few weeks ago I went and bought a pair of new running shoes. I knew I was flat footed and that I ran mostly on dirt and road. I first picked up a pair of Merrel hiking/ running shoes. At the time I thought if I got these pair I got 2 types of shoes for a price of one. I also got it exactly my size, to the inch.
After a short and painful run I decided to return the pair as soon as I could. SM Makati had a 7 day return policy. I fetched these awesome pair of Brooks GTX at a good price. The GTX is water proof up to the heel. Its sole is primarily made for trail and dirt roads. Plus, its a stability shoe meaning it fits great on flat-footed runners like me.
Check out this review I found on how to pick up the right pair of running shoes. Remember, its not just about the brand!
