Hello, our brave heroes! There has been some deliberation over the future of Card Captors lately with the departure of mods for academic reasons, the hiatus of Admin Egg for mental health reasons, and the temporary stepping down of Admin Yato (that’s a me!) to seek treatment for physical health reasons. Our lovely members have patiently awaited updates and events to roll-out, but with the absence of most of our staff it’s been difficult to implement all the new adventures we have planned. None of us want to close the directory, but the staff isn’t able to give it the administrative attention it deserves.
Therefore, we’ll be temporarily privatizing the directory until Egg and Yato can make their return. For non-members, this means we won’t be accepting new applications for the time being. For our current members, this means that threads will continue as normal but they won’t see directory sanctioned events or activity checks. (However, Yato will happily reblog memes & magic anons for our current members in the meantime! Depending on circumstances, she may also post small monster sightings if the members wish!)
We’ll also be slowly revamping the directory main during the temporary privatizing. So if pages on the main suddenly go blank or the theme looks wacky, it doesn’t mean we’re closed. On the contrary, we’re hard at work! When her health allows, Yato will be updating the pages with our promised:
- new canons & canon bios
- new character selections (beyond heroes, cards, and humans)
- expansion of lore (history, world building, locations, etc).
Egg is also excited to give us a beautiful make-over with:
- an easier to navigate theme
- new advertisements & acceptance graphics (current members will get them re-done!)
- fixing broken pages, links, etc.
Because of the nature of Egg and Yato’s hiatuses, we do not have a specific public re-opening date that’s set in stone. However, members that wish to stay with us until the grand re-opening will be awarded bonus points that can go towards events and the hero tournament. Members that wish to wait it out with us don’t need to worry about losing their FCs or canons! We’ll also kick off the public re-opening with our pre-written event (that continues the mystery of everyone’s letters & the new NPC “Scarecrow”) when the time comes.
We want to thank everyone for helping to keep Card Captors a fun, exciting place of magic and adventure! We want to thank you for your understanding that circumstances outside our Admins’ control are giving us a temporary freeze in the timeline. And lastly, we hope to see you all when we re-open to the public!

The Energy Card was a creation that wreaked havoc and didn’t feel guilty at all for what he did. The Energy had no reason to question his behaviour, since humanity wasn’t something he had any clue about. His intentions were purely focused on his reason for existing, to take energy around him, converting it, and to use it to make inanimate objects explode. Whether it was small or big, it was no problem for the Energy Card. He had no reason to question his existence and the things he did. He had no reason to think about the right and wrong of his actions but of course, it caught up with him and like the other cards, he was sealed.
After the seal was broken, The Energy knew that things needed to change after seeing the world had changed too. The form he had always known was not acceptable and so, to blend in with the rest of the world, he took the form of a human being, a weaker state than his true form and began to try and live a life like the rest of them and took the name Kim Jongin to make his own.
Upon being released, he had somehow ended up in Busan, South Korea and as he tried to figure out how to blend in, he had done his best to adapt and blend into society, not wanting to stand out in the crowd because he knew very well how humanity could be with the unknown. It took a while for Jongin to adjust to the changes and adjust his ways, but over time, he could easily pass for being human and with some luck, he could even go by undetected by heroes and the magically gifted.
When monsters began to reveal themselves more and more, Jongin didn’t bother himself with them, thinking that they would provide a distraction from him and as long as they weren’t in his way, it was none of his business. Of course, there were times when the monster would try to attack him and naturally, he would fight back and win time and time again.
Things went like this for a while. Jongin took on the human life he had created for himself and did his best to avoid being sealed or captured, something that he absolutely refused to ever have happen to him. Although he refuses to be captured, he did stay with a family under their roof, playing the role of an orphan boy with no family to help him blend in more easily.
Jongin began to work at the arcade as well, since stealing wasn’t exactly an acceptable way to get what he wanted. The job was easy enough for him and no one paid him any particular attention and although at times he gives off the air of aloofness, he does his job well.
PROMPT:
The Energy’s true form is rather humanoid, with some obvious differences in appearance. For starters, his skin is ghostly white, making him look as though he were dead and even transparent. His outfit is a bit more like tight armour made of leather and is black with traces of red mixed in it and his hair looks wild and unkept and is the same shade of red. The Energy also has a black mask covering his face, only allowing his eyes to be seen. Humans are known for their eyes to be white with coloured irises and black pupils but with the Energy, it’s different. The white part of his eyes are actually black, matching the pupils and the irises are the same red that matches his outfit and hair. He has a deck of cards on him at all times for easy convenience to use as weapons should none actually be around.

Forces work against witches in dark ways, but none dark than the hunters. Descendants of Salem and conquers of the occult, hunters are encroaching on the Covens of Seoul.
