Name: renet tilly (Mikey named her after a hip-hop artist he listened too)
Occupation: junior soldier of the kraang
backstory: this redesign takes place in the rise universe, so when she was traveling to the earth dimension, half way through the portal had closed and she crashed her ship in the hidden city (portal dimension stuff idk). She lost her memory after the crash, only remembering how to work the strange device in her tentacle. Fast-forward a little bit, she dawns kraang armor and a headpiece similar to a nun, with two gauntlets that stem from the black bindings on her wrist. She fights in the battle nexus, feeling itās the only place she belongs. She goes by the name of ātimetressā.
walking on the streets were too dangerous, how would other people know who she is when she doesnāt either?
Iām thinking about making a comic/fic about how her and Mikey meet andā¦.other stuffā¦.
letās go into the design of her costume!
So dimension X has these things called āmuta-gemsā these crystals give their armory various powers and allow them to take a more human form. Her gauntlets are powered by these crystals, when she hits a surface, there is a radius in which a ātime zoneā appears, making everything slow down and have her seem quicker to anyone watching within the zone.
The top half armor kind of flakes out from the chest plate part of the armor, while the bottom part is more manually put on.

the reason why I decided to redesign her was because when I saw the episode where renet was introduced I fucking hated her design. I have no issues with the character herself, sheās a sweetheart but omfg it brought out a pet peeve within me.
I usually group TMNT with sci-fi, and when they started bringing fucking time magic and travel, it just didnāt work. Time travel can be sci-fi, but the way they handled it was infuriating. Renet looks like she belongs in a fantasy setting, not a sci-fi one. If they were gonna introduce time-travel, then they should have went the cyberpunk route for her, since thatās what the TMNT version of New York looks like it would be heading to more cyberpunk shit. Her wand or cane or whatever tf doesnāt even match that well with her, it looks too rusty and uses warm and dark colors instead of the cooler and lighter colors renet uses.
WHY ARE THOSE FUCKING LITTLE BUBBLE WRAP THINGS ON HER TOP???? It looks so out of place, you would use that kind of stuff for aquatic character tbh. The only thing that relates to time is the headpiece she has, I really like it I think itās creative but it also looksā¦tackyā¦ like a knights helmet but not.
so for this redesign I decided to go for more spiky and sharper edges to signify danger and such. Iāll also add more stuff to the gauntlets and chest plate to be more related to time.
