Yes, I fucked up and made a lot of bad choices back then. As much as I regret that now, I can’t change it. I’ve had to learn to accept the things I can’t change but also to change what I can going forward. Now that I know better I choose better. Sometimes I wish you could see past the mistakes to see the bigger picture and recognize the impact you had on me to choose better going forward. I guess it’s hard for you to see that with the distance you choose to keep between us. You cant see who I am now while you’re stuck on the old version of me that lives in your mind. You have to make the choice to grow past that. I can’t make it for you. Just know if you weren’t worth it, why would I still be here trying? If I wasn’t worth it to you, why would you keep showing up in the ways you do? The past happened, and while parts of it suck, we can’t change it. It’s not too late to fix it while we both still have air in our lungs. I’ve shown you you’re my priority in every way I can in the last 4 years. Yours is the only lemonade stand I’ve ever been to. I’m not bringing anyone else their favorite cookies or buying them flowers when they had a bad day. I’m not hauling anyone else’s trash off for them when they can’t make it to the next pick up day. I’m not saying that to throw any of it in your face… merely saying those are the ways I’ve shown you you’re still my choice over any other options when you’ve allowed me to. Maybe one day you’ll see, or maybe you will continue to harbor that unforgiveness. That’s your choice to make. My choice is you.
