The world is a tragedy to those who feel, and a comedy to those who think.
-Horace Walpole-
Love me or hate me, both are in my favour...if you love me, I'll always be in your heart. If you hate me, I'll always be in your mind. Unknown
"You will lose friends, you will lose lovers, you will lose comfort but if in losing them you find yourself, you have gained more than kings." Marcus Aurelius
I feel like the biggest lie in the world is what Paulo Coelho wrote in his book The Alchemist. He wrote: ‘And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.’ Meaning, when you truly want something from your heart, the whole universe works together to help you. But all my life I’ve felt the opposite - whenever, however many times I’ve wanted something with all my heart, the whole world seems to team up to push that thing further away from me.
"All this struggle just for life to end on a random day."
-Fyodor Dostoevsky
“Every tree calls to the birds.
But birds do not rest on every tree. They know which tree will give them shade, fruit, and branches to shelter upon.
Humans are more foolish than birds —
someone calls them with love, and they go without question.”
— Rudra Goswami
Years keep passing,
and I still feel like a guest in other people’s lives—
temporary, replaceable, easy to forget.
No matter how sophisticated the mask becomes,
every road still leads back to the lonely child
who waited for tenderness
and learned how to live without it.
"The more you give, the higher their demands will rise.
Soon, their requests will feel like commands,
as if your heart has no choice but to obey.
Do everything for them long enough,
and one day you’ll wake to find you were never cherished -
only used, only seen as a servant.
So abandon the chase to win others’ hearts.
Let go of the hunger to please.
Nurture your own instead.
Only then will your soul and body, your spirit and flesh, know the peace they crave."
"I don't think I can ever be close to anyone.I don't think I can ever love anyone.I think I'm a closed book."
- Sylvia Plath
I love people. Everybody. I love them, I think, as a stamp collector loves his collection. Every story, every incident, every bit of conversation is raw material for me. My love’s not impersonal yet not wholly subjective either. I would like to be everyone, a cripple, a dying man, a whore, and then come back to write about my thoughts, my emotions, as that person. But I am not omniscient. I have to live my life, and it is the only one I’ll ever have. And you cannot regard your own life with objective curiosity all the time.
Sylvia Plath, The Unabridged Journals
