Tickling easily turns me into a squirming, snickering puddle. However, when combined with teasing, I freaking melt. No fighting back, just curling up with enjoyment and embarrassment.

Hey guys! So, this year I decided to take over Squealing Santa for my dear friend @calmturquoise who did it the last two years. I’m a little nervous about running this but hopefully everything will run smoothly!! I’ve essentially just copy & pasted the rules from the previous posts, so…yeah!

In order to get a tickle fic, you must be willing to write a tickle fic for someone else.

Fics should be 250 words or more (if that sounds like a lot, don’t worry, it’s only about a page double-spaced).

Fics should be based on prompts given by the person you are writing for.

When you sign up, include 1-5 loose prompts - can be as simple as a fandom, a pairing, a character, a scenario, or a combination of those things.

Once sign-ups end, I’ll send out assignments and you’ll have until (ideally, I know things are starting later this year) the end of December to finish your fic and send it to the person you’re writing for. In turn, your writer will post a fic for you by the end of December! No one will know who is writing whose prompts until the fics are posted, because surprises are fun!

Here is what I will need from you:

An ask, submission, or message telling me what fandoms/pairings you’re willing to write for.

An ask, submission, or message listing 1-5 prompts (can be specific or vague, whatever you want) for me to give to the person assigned to write for you.

Make sure you have your askbox or messages open, because I’ll need to communicate with you at some point to let you know who you are writing for!

IF YOU ARE ANON: you must include a tumblr url or email I can contact you at. I promise I won’t give it out to anyone, I just will need a way to contact you over the course of the exchange!

SIGNING UP: To make it so everyone receives their assignments at a somewhat reasonable time, you will have until Tuesday, December 5th to sign up. After that, sign-ups will be closed! That should be plenty of time for anyone who wants to participate to let me know.

Also: when you sign up I will send you a confirmation ask/email/whatever, so if you don’t receive that, contact me! (I want to make sure no one gets left out due to tumblr eating asks or something similarly dumb.)

Once a year, people are expected to lie down on a table and let someone tickle them.

No, really. It’s true. That’s something our society expects of people.

To ease into your tickle session, first you’ll sit up and they’ll slide a cold, circular metal object from spot to spot around your chest, sides, back, and tummy. This may be tolerable, but likely barely so.

Then they’ll slide and dance their fingers all around your neck. Just breathe deeply and you may be able to keep from panicking.

Next, the real fun begins. You’re asked to lie down and make your tummy completely exposed. You’re now supposed to let this person slide their hands all around one of your most ticklish spots. They’ll press around, perhaps in little circles, and then slide across your skin to a new spot. They may even do some feeling around along your sides or ribs. This may go on for several minutes, and you’re expected to just lie there and hold still. No matter how much it tickles, you can’t make it stop. If you’re lucky, you might be able to mask just how ticklish you are—but many can’t and you may even be teased about it. 

If you’re female, you might even get the bonus that actually involves this person feeling around inside your armpit. 
 Finally, you may get your feet tickled too. Masquerading it as a “reflex test,” this person will take a pointy metal tool and drag it up the bottom of your feet from your heel toward your toes and across the ball. Oh, but your feet are really ticklish? Sorry, you just have to let them do it. Oops - sorry, you really have to hold still…I’m going to have to try that again….no, please don’t pull your foot away before I even do it….just relax, please. It’s only the bottom of your foot…

I think the most evil thing with rib tickling...is when people count them as they do it.

Listen though…there are twelve ribs on each side of the body making 24 RIBS MAN. Not only is it ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE to endure 24 individual ribs being tickled as they’re counted…

BUT the entire aspect of knowing you have to reach 24 ribs before you’re a free bird is THE WORST. There’s nothing you can do but wait the ENTIRE thing out.

And the even worse thing people do when they count tickle ribs is when they say something like:

“Ugh. You’re squirming and laughing too much, now I’ve lost count! Now you’re making me start all over again.”

While they smirk because they know oh so well just what they’re doing.
