Appearance and attire: light-skinned biracial woman, curly hair with lavender ends/highlights down to ankle length usually kept in twin braids, greenish eyes, dimples, sharp fangs, dimples, slim body type, broad shoulders, lean arms and legs.
Wears a sleeveless lace button-up, a vest/waistcoat with one sleeve (elbow length) and neck ruffles, layered gloves, a golden arm bracelet with jewel flowers, silk shawl wrapped around her hips as a belt, layered skirts with embroidered flowers, black tights, mismatched shoes, leg warmers.
She was born from Hades' middle, ring and pinky fingers! Dw, they grew back. It's like Athena being born from Zeus' head, just along with sand from the River Styx and dried rose petals from her mama.
They keeps all the secrets of the world in her hair, if she cuts it, secrets will be revealed and who knows what could happen. ("That's why her hair is so big... It's full of secrets"/ref).
Though it depends on how much he was to cut, if it's just a small trim at the ends, only a few secrets would be set loose.
She often feels like she doesn't belong with mortals or the godly pantheon, like she doesn't understand either of them fully and feels excluded by it. So she often disguises herself as a mortal (or goes out and about in her deity form) to observe, interact with and "study" humans.
She paints/draws A LOT. Hades and Persephone have multiple of their coffee mugs stained and painted with doodles and silly phrases. Getting Hylaria to stop drawing on walls and tables when he was a kid was a nightmare for them (she still does, but only in their own room).
She spends fall and winter in the Underworld with her parents and bounces from place to place in summer and spring.
Sometimes they leave the Underworld for a few days to get some space but always tries to keep her parents close and keep them from fighting 💔
Despite being born from her father's fingers, she takes more after Persephone physically and Hades wouldn't have it any other way (He reproduced asexually and his genes still didn't even TRY).
She's very much infatuated with Orpheus and Eurydice. At first he sees them as little lab rats to be studied, but then genuinely wants to get to know them better and wants to see them succeed and make it out of Hadestown
It's an old song, a tale from way back when. You'd think she'd be less heartbroken every time they don't make it out.
She's not. She's always just as devastated as the first time.
Oh if Eurydice and Orpheus made it out, the three of them would be UNSTOPPABLE
Many tea parties, hijinx and karaoke nights at Hermes' bar ensue.
Can be an adrenaline seeker from time to time from the monotonous routine of Hadestown. With Hades working all the time, Persephone's drinking and the Workers are barely responsive, Hylaria often goes in her mortal disguise to cause trouble for entertainment. She's particularly fond of starting or ending bar fights.
