The silence has been loud lately. I know my phone doesn't ring anymore. I know there are empty seats where my family used to sit at my matches. I know what you’re whispering in on Sundays, that I’ve fallen, that I’ve lost my way, that I’ve joined a " a dark syndicate.
I grew up hearing about the Good Samaritan, about protecting the widow and the orphan, about breaking the chains of injustice. I sat in church for 20 years listening to people talk about saving the weak. But when I looked around at the women who were actually being crushed, abused, and silenced... all I saw from my "community" was judgment and given the history of my own father, all I can think of is the hypocrisy of this! thoughts and prayers while they looked the other way, while he looked the other way!
Yes, the man I follow now is not a "man of God." He doesn't speak your language. He operates in the shadows. His methods are sharp, and his hands aren’t clean.
But let me tell you what I’ve seen.
While you were praying for the tyranny to stop, he was actually stopping it. While you were telling mistreated women to "submit," he was handing them a shield and teaching them how to fight back. He is "ungodly," yet he has liberated more captives and protected more innocents in one year than my old congregation did in a decade.
The Bible taught me to judge a tree by its fruit. You offer polite words and clean hands. He offers freedom and survival.
If defending the weak makes me a villain in your story, then I’ll gladly play the villain. I’d rather stand in the dark with a man who saves lives than stand in the light with those who only pretend to care.
They told me I sold my soul to join The Order. They disowned me because I follow a leader they call a sinner.
Here is the truth I learned the hard way: God doesn't always use the saints. Sometimes, He uses the Cyrus. He uses the rough edges. He uses the weapon that is willing to get dirty to protect the flock.
My family abandoned me because I chose a faction that actually does something.
You preach about justice; The Order enforces it.
You pity the abused; This man empowers them.
I have watched this "ungodly" man pull women out of hellholes that the church wouldn't dare enter. I have watched him break the teeth of tyrants while the "righteous" were too busy polishing their halos.
If loving my neighbor means getting my hands dirty alongside a sinner to save a life, then sign me up. I found more loyalty and morality in this "syndicate" than I ever found in the safety of your judgment.
