Bodrifty Roundhouse in West Cornwall, United Kingdom.

From 1999-2001, Fred Mustill worked with his family and friends to build this replica of a traditional roundhouse. The foundation was created by dragging two-ton boulders across the ground. The thatch roof was fastened by lashing seven miles of twine.

Fred says:

Over the course of the last 15 years, on many occasions, The Roundhouse roof has been battered by some severe weather conditions and storm force gales which were so severe that they uprooted some of our trees. However, not only has it remained sturdy, it has not leaked anywhere at any time.

The roundhouse is available to rent.
