Hello! I enjoy your hcs a lot! Do you still do omegaverse hcs? I am looking for inspiration for a fic i am writing, and was wondering if you could help me? In the fic a (usually stoic leader type) male omega is pregnant but he becomes really sick, he ends up having a miscarriage and barely survives. Do you have any hcs as to how his (m) Alpha will behave and react? and friends? Also maybe some aftermath hcs for the omega and Alpha? sorry i am asking a lot feel free to ignore if it's too much :)

I am so, so sorry for how late this is! I would offer a longer explanation as to my year-long absence, but I already did (ish). Again I’m so sorry lol. I do enjoy answering these kind of situational headcanons though!

Anyways, getting into the headcanons, I could see the alpha being absolutely distraught. They feel they have to put up a “brave” face in order to cheer their omega up, though it doesn’t work too well. Lots of apologies from both the alpha and the omega, and lots (and I mean a lot) of tears. 

The alpha could possibly blame himself, and so could the omega. The alpha, because he “could have taken better care of the omega,” and the omega because he “could have taken better care of themselves.” They both need a bunch of comfort, especially because of the omega barely surviving the miscarriage and sickness.

Due to the omega’s “stoic leader type,” he would more than likely internally blame himself. Internal punishment, such as “you were never good enough” and “you’re not fit to bear children,” is something that he finds in his mind constantly after the sickness and miscarriage.

Alpha (and possibly friends/pack members) could definitely become overprotective of the omega. This could be small things, such as making sure they don’t lift heavy things to barely letting the omega out of their sights.

During the miscarriage, the alpha would more than likely be worried sick. Constantly tending to their omega (if allowed to due to the illness), making sure the omega is comfortable as he can be. The miscarriage is a rough spot for them for sure; I can definitely see the self-blame causing issues in their relationship.

The friends would likely pity the two and try to help as much as they’re allowed to. I can’t think of much for the friends other than that, so I apologize!

do you think a beta partner would allow an alpha friend (whether it be theirs or the omega's) to help an omega through their heat?

It really depends on who they are as a person. While I understand the view of letting an alpha help the omega through a heat, we’re talking about two people who are in a relationship. The beta may get jealous or regret their decision. The alpha may say no to helping. The omega may say no to being helped. It depends on the person.

It’s another issue when the beta says yes, but the omega does not consent. Even if the omega is in heat, consent is a major part. 

So, to answer the question, I don’t think they would. Yes, the beta may feel like an alpha could help the omega more than they could, but I don’t think they’d go to that length.

Possibly. The last omegaverse server that I ran was closed due to inappropriate behavior from members. I don’t know how long it lasted, but I was notified pretty late. I enjoyed it too, though. I made it with old friends who aren’t around anymore.

I would need some staff, as well, since I’m pretty busy! Maybe staff applications would work? I’m not too sure myself on how it would work, to be quite frank. Maybe I can get a few of my ABO friends to mod for me...

I’d be glad to remake it though. I know many of the members felt it was a “safe space” of such. I don’t want what happened before to happen again, so I’d need staff majorly. It was just me running it before.

Any headcanons about an Alpha/Beta relationship? Is it looked down upon in some places, especially if the alpha is considered desirable and “deserves to be w/ a REAL mate” ?

There’s definitely some discrimination against that type of relationship, but more in the earlier times. As society evolves and changes, as do the beliefs. But, here’s some headcanons!

Yes, I do believe that an alpha/beta relationship would be looked down upon in some places, specifically countries. I would imagine it would be discriminated against in the countries that discriminate against the LGBTQ+ community, but it's up to you!

The older generations are more likely to whisper those sort of comments. I can imagine them speaking as if alphas are meant to be with omegas and betas are meant to be with other betas. Them saying that the alpha “deserves to be with a real mate” and "you shouldn't be with that knotless scum," along with other several derogatory terms towards betas (list from pack-the-pack).

The people involved in an alpha/beta relationship or those that are attracted to the other secondary gender (alphas attracted to betas, betas attracted to alphas, ect.) possibly would hide their relationships and take other steps to be safe from discrimination due to preference/relationship. It definitely would be hard to get all those stares and rude words pointed towards them. 

Discrimination can and will have negative impacts on their well-being in all sorts of ways, including psychological and spiritual. While some may have it better than others, alpha/beta discrimination is still out there. Even though some may have it better than others, I can imagine all sorts of support groups for them. (I cannot provide much on the impacts due to limited research time; I do know that there are many types though!)

But, the couple can definitely be happy! Let them celebrate and love each other the way they want to. Society doesn't define who they love, and neither should another human! I do believe that an alpha/beta relationship can be quite cute, especially on dates and trips and such! Depending on your verse, bonding is optional. Though in mine, betas can bond similar to alphas and omegas. So imagine the cute couple bonded and doing amazing! Bonus points if they bear a child and prove everyone wrong. Or, if they're both male, adoption to give them the pups they can't have!

It'd be my pleasure! Scenting is actually really fun to write. I hope these are okay! I need to go get breakfast now lol.

Basically, scenting is a big factor in most ABO verses. Every person has scent glands, normally located on the neck and wrists (locations vary from verse to verse), which emit their scent. No one has the exact same scent, though some can be similar to others. The action of scenting is where one person of any dynamic presses and rubs their scent glands against another person. Household items, such as blankets and pillows, can also be scented.

In some verses, scenting someone is seen as "claiming" someone, similar to a bond mark. Some use scenting as a way of comfort and others will use scenting to ward off anyone interested in the person they scented. Parents scent their children, friends scent their friends, packmates scent other packmates, mates scent mates. Unlike bond marks, scenting isn't permanent and can be washed off if someone bathes or showers thoroughly.

There are ways to hide scent, though! Scent suppressants are definitely a thing in omegaverse. Scents can also be covered by heavily applied perfume or scent patches. Scent patches are small patches similar to testosterone patches, though the small piece is instead placed on the scent glands. It really varies between verses, if I'm being honest.

I just read your abused omega headcanon and I was wondering what is your headcanon for an abused Alpha

I’ve actually been meaning to rewrite my abused omega headcanons for a good while, but I haven’t had a chance to! I also wanted to touch on the subject of other abused dynamics. Reading back on those old headcanons, I’d like to write them less focused on an omega finding a mate and more focused on how they cope with their trauma on a day-to-day basis! The same goes for alphas.

But to answer the question, it depends on the type(s) of abuse the alpha endured. There are quite a few types of abuse and everyone’s trauma is different. Adding to that, there are many ways that people cope with their trauma, and I want to be able to include ways an alpha could cope. This is another reason why I need to rewrite my abused headcanons in general.

I honestly have to do some research on the different types of abuse more in full rather than go off of my own experiences. I want to provide reliable headcanons and information! So please be patient while I do this and get my information straight.

would it be possible to erase a bond mark? or maybe overwrite one?

Erase one, no, I don’t think so. Overwrite one, yes. At least, in my verse it is as so.

Perhaps on rare occasions, a bond mark will be erased. This could happen if the person with the bond mark resents it entirely. On the other hand, it could also erase due to an incredibly high amount of stress on the bond mark’s owner. Trauma-induced resentment or stress could also possibly erase the bond mark, or render it useless. 

A bond mark, though, can be overwritten. It’s similar to the initial bond mark creation, though the person doing the biting (or whatever happens in your verse) likely has to be more gentle due to the scarring over the first mark. 

If the person wearing the first bond mark was abused or forcefully bonded, they could definitely have some issues with it, as well. They could be nervous to escape their previous bond for obvious reasons, or they could be using the bond as a kind of relief or “safe” feeling. I’m not too sure how to describe it, but the people I know (who’ve been through some shit) have comfort items, and the bond mark could be similar to that!

for u, what is rut? does it only affect the alpha when the omega is in heat?

A rut is quite similar to an omega’s heat. A rut includes a small period, often called pre-rut, where alphas will begin to show more aggressive behavior towards other people. They are especially aggressive to others near those in the alpha’s pack or an omega that the alpha is interested in or mated to, or overall protective of. They also begin to feel the sexual frustration, though not at the strength of full rut. This period lasts a few hours to two days.

When the alpha enters his rut in full, he often has a need to copulate and knot someone. In simpler terms, he has an unquenchable thirst for ass. I haven’t written too much on the full-blown rut (and I honestly had to go through every omegaverse blog I follow to refresh myself on everything after such a long, unintended hiatus), but I’ll be sure to start on some of it soon!

To answer the second question, in my omegaverse, no. A rut doesn’t only affect the alpha when an omega is in heat.

In my verse, both heats and ruts happen about three or four times a year if regular. (More on irregular cycles below, but not much). Though a heat from an omega can trigger an alpha’s rut, and vice versa, the triggered cycle would likely be more of a faux cycle. Therefore, it wouldn’t affect the regular cycle too much. Perhaps it would stall the other’s scheduled heat/rut a few days should they have a cycle triggered, but that could often be rare.

Both heats and ruts can be irregular, similar to menstruation. Hormone imbalances, too much stress, malnutrition and many other factors can change when the person experiences a heat or a rut. Birth control and heat/rut suppressants (which neither suppressants are 100% effective, similar to types of birth control) can also cause irregular cycles.

i really really love that this blog is free from fandom related content. its one of my favourite concepts fo explore in stories abt my ocs and seeing fandom content about canon characters makes me really uncomfy but almost every abo blog out there seems to be fandom related :(

Have HCs for an omega using suppressants in a place where it’s illegal to do so?

Of course! Though not many, sadly. Sorry!

The omega has to be very careful when using them. The suppressants might have side effects that need to be hidden or taken care of as if they were something normal in the omega’s life. The suppressants are for their heats, I’m assuming, so they also have to come up with an excuse as to why they haven’t had a heat in however long.

Perhaps a reason behind the ban of suppressants is for medical reasons or physical reasons. Or the government wants omegas to be bottom of the chain. Whichever it is, the omega doesn’t hesitate to find a dealer for the suppressants.

Side effects of the suppressants (basing this off of IRL hormone therapies and such) may be weight gain, mood swings, depression, fatigue, nausea, less/loss of libido, and more tender areas of the body. The omega has to accommodate for these symptoms and prepare a story or something of the sort. They also have to make sure that they do not overdose on the suppressants.

Concept: An Omega taking (illegal) suppressants that completely hide her dynamic so people think she’s Beta. But then she meets this Alpha that smells SO good she’s drawn to him and he can tell right away what she really is. Bonus, being around him too long sends her into heat anyway when her suppressants hadn’t failed her with any other Alpha.

I love this concept! Many other abo verses would probably call this something close to soulmates or true mates. But this concept has to be one of my many favorites, thank you for sending it!
