As many of you know, we have always been passionate about creating and fostering a community of writers dedicated to creating and connecting muses from all walks of life. Though we were certainly eager to write and develop our own characters, we were also just as excited to plan events, write tasks, and come up with more ways to allow every single player to feel included within our group. While I think we’ve said this a thousand times already, without all of you guys sticking around with us as members of this roleplay, Catalina would not exist.
So, from the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU. Thank you for sticking by us during the pandemic and giving me a place to escape the pandemic, thank you for dropping us supportive and loving messages through our ask box and surveys, and above all, thank you for being you. We have always said that Catalina has some of the most talented and kindest writers within the RPC and we stand by that.
By all means, please feel free to write your characters within this universe. Catalina is as much yours as it is ours (we obviously just ask that you don’t take our ideas and create a new RP with them). CHARACTER DETAILS
So, Sara and Moonbin met in high school when they both lived in San Francisco at the time. She was a social butterfly and he was the responsible one. I’ve always imagined him as some sort of golden boy, too perfect for his own good, which, of course, can lead to some tension between them eventually. But yes, Bin was responsible, dependable, polite and Sara and him shared the same cultural background, so that was nice. They got married right after Sara was done with high school (Bin was an year older, so he moved to the east coast before she did, and returned to San Fran so they could get married) and moved to NYC to attend college.
I’ve never had any specific occupation for him in mind, but when they were both done with their studies, Bin received a job offer and off they went to South Korea, where he focused in his career and Sara focused in her acting. Eventually, they started talking about having a baby.
Bin was out of town when Sara found out about her pregnancy. When she was going to call him and tell him, she received the news that he’d been involved in an accident, but they couldn’t find his body on site. Police started searching, but to this day, they still couldn’t find his body.
It’s been almost two years since his disappearance, and while I’m not looking for anything too melodramatic, there are several reasons why he disappeared and only now showed it. Maybe his superiors got him into something shady and he didn’t see a better way out rather than disappearing, maybe he messed with the wrong people (on his own accord), maybe he got scared of the seriousness of his relationship with Sara and felt like he needed to stay away to figure himself out. Bottom line is: the sky is the limit, but I wasn’t looking for anything over the top, like he almost died, got rescued but lost his memories and is now living in Catalina with another woman, you know? I’d be more than happy to discuss more ideas that you might have!
Since it’s been almost two years that he’s disappeared, Sara has given up hope in finding him. It was the only way she could manage to move on and try to focus on herself and their child. I’d love to work on them mending the strings that got severed from them. Plus, they have an adorable three-year old (that Moonbin has never met) so that would also give you something to work with, when it comes to your character and coming to terms with fatherhood.
Whether they go back to developing deep feelings for each other or file for divorce, is completely up to chemistry! I just think Sara (and Moonbin) deserve this kind of development for their own sake!
