Happy International Women’s Day! To celebrate this, Manchester’s Suffragettes and transport activists demand safer roads for women on bikes.
Sustrans’ Bike Life survey last October confirms that many women still don’t feel safe on the roads. Out of over 4,000 people in Greater Manchester for the Bike Life survey less than a third of those who said they cycled (31%) were women. Most people (eight out of ten) said that if the roads were safer they would definitely get on their bikes. ‘We know that if more money was regularly spent on creating and maintaining better cycle lanes many women would choose cycling as their preferred mode of transport. In cities such as Copenhagen, where bike lanes and other facilities separate bikes from traffic, more women cycle than men.’ (Rosslyn Colderley, Sustrans North Director)
More info and how you can join on Sustrans’s website.
This is such a good cause! It’s so easy to get intimidated out of cycling, especially in the city centre. I definitely support the introduction of better and more cycle lanes.

I absolutely love this painting. The colours are gorgeous.
My Grand Budapest Hotel poster for Geeksboro Coffee House! I’ve also finished Fantastic Mr. Fox, The Darjeeling Limited and Moonrise Kingdom posters but they haven’t been released yet at Geeksboro so I have to waaiiittt.
Loved re-watching this and personally, it’s my favorite of his movies. I saw it several times in the theaters and would gasp and drag my friends to see it if they hadn’t yet. Also the soundtrack is perfect..I listen to it almost everyday for every project because…it’s just…so…good. thank you Wes for Grand Budapest and thank ya Lawd for both Alexandre Desplat and Willem Dafoe.
If you’d like a print they’re up here!
reposting for halloween.

Beautiful slice of pistachio cake I devoured at Teacup in Manchester’s Northern Quarter last week. Tasted just as good as it looks!
