As some of you may know I recently had some trouble with my apartment. About a month after someone broke in and stole a good portion of valuables (thankfully nothing that couldn’t be easily replaced) someone shot at our house. The bullet came through the back door, hitting a can of bug spray (which exploded) before lodging into the wall. Due to this and some other unexpected things to happen pretty much all at once I moved back from Florida to Illinois.

Because of all of this I’m in a very tight financial spot. I got a job the moment I moved back to Illinois but I need some help with immediate financial needs. I just need a little help making a terrifying situation go a little easier for me. Thankfully I have my mom and stepdad allowing me to move back into their house but my mom is on permanent disability and my step father is the sole provider so I cannot get help from them. I imagine death feels like finishing a great book: Exiting now that you know the end, but sad that it's over. Fill your chapters up with enthralling stories so that the last words mean something.

The man laughed towards what he was hearing at the current moment, he liked the spirit out of the child and then he stood up to his normal height and raised a brow when the woman spoke and noticed the hearing aides. “So you won’t be able to hear anything when it runs out?”

"Nothing. Maybe some white noise in the background." she explained, scratching her arm. "Hey Zima, you should go through our stuff and take stock of what we need." she signed back in response and was gone in an instant. "I usually go out and find some new ones but those things have been moving more and more lately and I can't just leave her back at camp without knowing she'll have someone to watch out for her or take care of her if, and god forbid, I don't come back. It's why I'm here."

Lee then shook the child’s hand and nodded when she said she was doing good, then looked over to the woman when she spoke and then once again shifted, back to the little girl and gave a supportive smile. “You never know, maybe you will be.”

"Yeah! I know I will be. And my big sister will be at my side. She can be like Bucky Barnes to my Captain America! Robin to my Batman! Lockheed to my Kitty Pryde!"

"Nerd." Charlie snorted, causing Zima to stick her tongue out in annoyance. Charlie signed something to Zima silently, causing the girl to frown.

"No." she responded, shaking her head and signing back in return. Charlie sighed.

"I'm going to run out of batteries soon. You'll have to trust them." Charlie insisted, eyes catching Lee's. She pointed to her ears, tugging her hair back to show him her hearing aides. "I'm running out of batteries."

He was still smiling, that was something he wouldn’t stop doing for something. “Well, welcome then. Sure this will feel like home soon.” Automatically when he saw the young girl walk through, he smiled and got on his knees. “Hey kiddo, how’s it going?”

Zima licked her lip then offered her hand to him. "I'm doing pretty good I guess." she'd always been a very open and happy person, willing to meet and greet almost everyone that came across her. It constantly made Charlie nervous.

"Zima wants to be a superhero." she said, small smirk on her lip. Zima pointed down to her shirt. It was short sleeved with a long sleeve white turtleneck under it but the faded image on the t-shirt was visible. The Flash. She grinned.

"Yeah, surprising." Lee said towards the woman, then took the woman’s hand in order to shake it. "Lee Everett, nice to meet you as well."

His smile was a little contagious, she couldn't keep herself from grinning brightly in response. "Never been in a real group before. Just- hold on..." she was signing along as she spoke, hands moving rapidly. She turned slightly, calling out a quick "Zima, come here!" a moment later a young girl, maybe thirteen, rounded the corner. "This is my sister. Zuleima."

"Hi."

Hey, I hate to do this but I’m having severe money issues right now. I have seventy cents to my name and have not been scheduled for work in three weeks.
