Lost in the Images of the World
With school right around the corner we all are looking for the latest fashion, the in thing! We gotta look good! First day outfits seem like everything to anyone who is starting something new! Although it is fun finding the next big thing it is easy to get lost in discovering it. Often times we wear what we wear and look how we do because of what society thinks! In reality we are putting on another persons image and wearing it as if it we're our own. Its like borrowing clothes from your bestfriend. You wear it like you bought it and look great in them but, their not yours. "Forgetting" to return them, our wardrobe grows bigger and we begin claiming them as our own. This is exactly what happens to our image/identity when we dress to impress everyone but ourselves. If we aren't spiritually clothed we will stand naked before the world allowing whatever sounds, smells, and looks good to be our clothes or image. But when we put on Christ we put away all foolish thing and our identity is found in him. With knowing who we are, we know what we like and no longer fell the need to impress everyone else. Dare to stand out and start a new trend or just be you! Gods got you covered!
1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
