that this is the poem where the words are more dirty laundry than honey, more salt on fingertips than commitment

that this is the poem where the poet admits that sometimes she wants to scream when she calls herself a poet out loud, looked up How To Be A Stripper two days ago just for kicks

that this is the poem where she just wants to be the wolf wants to be the hungry thing doesn’t want you confusing her library collection with what she wants tonight, maybe just wants a mouth, that she’s a growl and a snarl and it isn’t always a pretty innocent thing isn’t always poetry

Life is a lot more simple than we like to make it. we run from those who love us and exhaust ourselves loving people who don’t. Please - don’t over exhaust yourself by expressing your feelings over and over to someone who just doesn’t get it or care to. You’ll end up empty.
