Hiya! I am a Journalism student in Belgium and I love to take pictures with both my phone and my camera. I'll be posting pictures on here that I have taken with my Canon EOS 450D.

After all of these hot days with temperatures between 27°C and 30°C, a day with a chilly wind and temperatures of 22°C were nice and welcome.

I decided to pay a visit to Tivoli Park and its children's farm. The last time I had been there was in 2010 for my birthday party. I wondered what I would remember after 13 years. So, what better way than to bring back memories than going on a trip with a camera to capture all of nature's beauty?

My exams ended two days ago, and I wanted to pay a visit to the Mechels Broek again after almost 5 years. The beautiful nature reserve of Mechelen also holds a watching tower where you can spot birds if you're lucky.

I managed to catch some birds flying over the land, but no luck in capturing a detailed photo of one of the birds - even with my telelens.

Nonetheless, it was ridiculously hot today, but there were a lot of spots in the shade, so it could be worse. Ultimately, I had a great time and surely advise to pay the Mechels Broek a visit.

It was a beautiful sunny day today and I was in desperate need of some sunshine after sitting inside too much during autumn and winter. So, I paid a visit to Vrijbroekpark in Mechelen with my mother and brought my camera with me to capture the natural life in the park.

Because of the dreadfully sad and rainy weather today, I thought I would look back at the pictures I took two days ago of the wild flowers in my garden.

It was such amazing weather, the exact reason why spring is my favourite season.

It was the Easter holidays, so I had a lot of free time, which was mostly used to study for the exams of the second semester.

I had designed a strict study schedule, so I had not a lot of time to spare to pay a visit to the park to take pictures on this summer day.

My backyard it was again, although the results did not disappoint in my humble opinion.

After photographing several dandelions, I had just packed everything away again when my brother called me back, saying a bee got stuck in a spider’s web.

You could hear the desperate buzzing of the bee as she was trying to get out, but alas the spider had sensed its prey and had already started wrapping her up in a cocoon.

Can you believe these pictures were taken in my backyard?

Because of my good grades in the first semester, my father had given me his old canon camera with a removable tele lens.

During a study break, I decided to test the tele lens out with these results. In the beginning I was struggling with the distance, but after figuring out to leave a respectable distance from your subject to have clear images, I had immense fun.

Liège - part 10

End of our two-day trip to Liège. We had so much fun, and just having a change of scenery was a welcome thing after nearly three weeks of exams.

We were also lucky to have such beautiful weather. In a country like Belgium where it can both rain, snow and be sunny, having a trip where the sun was shining was so refreshing and nice.

Liège - part 9

Rue Roture, an ancient street that holds houses of the 17th and 18th century. We were lucky to only pass two people, hence the people-free images :)

Walking through the street was almost like going back in time. Truly beautiful.

Liège - part 8

Day 2 of our stay in Liège. On today’s schedule was first and foremost the botanic garden. I had previously seen a picture of the greenhouses in a video on TikTok and I was immediately sold.

Although the plants inside the greenhouses were not that interesting, it was a truly nice experience and well worth its €2,50.

One of the greenhouses holds carnivorous plants such as the Venus Flytrap. I was surprised to see that the plant is actually quite small in real life.

Liège - part 7

By the time we were back down, we realised we had ended up back on Place Saint-Lambert. After having seen most of the monuments already, we decided that our final destination of today would be La Poste, which is located in a very beautiful building.

When we arrived on the Passerelle-bridge, we were welcomed by a beautiful sunset: the perfect finish of our first day!

Liège - part 6

Using streets and not the steps of Montagne de Bueren to go back down, we passed a series of medieval and cute little streets, which made the descent not as apparent and tangible as when you would taking the steps of Montagne de Bueren.

Liège - part 5

Maybe one of the most well-known and visited places in Liège has to be Montagne de Bueren. This staircase of about 376 steps leads to the citadel of the city which lays uphill.

Starting the climb, you feel yourself thinking, “wow, this is easy”, but I can tell you that you’ll be very glad to reach the top.

To make things even better, the view you have over the city is absolutely magnificent.

Liège - part 4

After we visited the tourist centre to get a map of the city, we decided on the route we would take to make sure we would see the majority of monuments and attractions.

One of the most beautiful monuments, was by far the Grand Curtius Museum, an arts museum. The beautiful brick of the building was bright red, and something I had not yet seen before; at least not quite like this.

Although we did not visit the museum itself, just walking in the small courtyard and taking in the exterior of the building is worth a trip itself.

Liège - part 3

Once we were on the Place Saint-Lambert, our bellies were growling. Luckily, there was a mall nearby, so we buyed our lunch and went back to Place Saint-Lambert to take a pause and have our meal.

Maybe it was because we were eating croissants and naturally some parts flew off, but the place was full of doves flying on and flying off again. Can’t say we were very pleased.

The weather was absolutely stunning, which provided excellent circumstances to admire the Palais des Prince-Évêques, that also contains le Palais Justice.

Liège - part 2

After dropping off our bags at the hotel, it was still early, so we decided to explore the city a little bit. On our way to the central Place Saint-Lambert, we passed the Sain-Lambert train station.

Liège - Part 1

After the exams of the first semester, I visited Liège with my best friend for two days.

Our hotel was near the Liège-Saint-Lambert train station, so we had to take our connecting train here in the Liège-Guillemins train station.

The weather was incredibly well, with a bright blue sky. The sun was so bright, she created these fun light games through the pigmented roof of the Liège-Guillemins train station.
