I'm currently reading Berserk, which is a manga about the inner psychic conflict between loving to draw buff nude men, but also being terrified of ever drawing a penis.
As the series progresses, there start to be bumps: Ken-doll-like mounds that at least suggest that something is going on down there.
In the visual language established by the previous volumes, it simply could not be clearer: this man's head is a penis.
Eventually, a breakthrough. Here we finally have Guts' penis, though it remains strangely insubstantial: with porous borders, and lacking hard definition. Perhaps indicative of Kentaro Miura drawing and erasing it and drawing it again? Losing his nerve, but settling on this liminal penis as a compromise between his trembling hand and tortured heart?
At the point that I'm up to, Miura has progressed to drawing fairly well-defined penises, but only on rabid monsters and depraved heretics. The truly handsome men of the series still only kind of have penises. The greasy little goblin guys, on the other hand, are going full schlong.
In Berserk, you can either have a soul or have a penis. Guts, our hero, comes closest to having both, but the covenant only works by being compromised at both ends: a damned soul bearing a ghostly penis.
The bridge between the two worlds.
