for as long as he can remember, eunwoo has never had a good relationship with his parents - especially his father. as the next-in-line to owning the family company, he feels more like a business partner than a son to them - he can’t recall the last conversation he had with them that wasn’t about business and the company. yelling, put-downs, name-calling, and belittling behaviors - he’s grown used and numb to it all. the communication between them is undoubtedly terrible, yet his parents have high expectations of him to be an obedient son and a successful ceo one day. however, he refuses to be both. as a revenge, he chooses to rebel instead - doing the total opposite of what he’s told. he hides behind his alias - “cha eunwoo” - in an attempt to dissociate himself from his demanding father who, unbeknownst to the world, has been scamming his way to the top of the business industry. he despises his father even more for that, hence why he keeps his real identity - lee dongmin - a secret, ashamed to be known as the son of a con-man.
the family of his best friend, juyeon - considers eunwoo as their own. though, without the proper care and guidance of an actual family, he one day found himself taking interest in a local street gang he met at the park. the gang influenced his interest towards motorbikes, his smoking habit, and his tendency to get into street fights. had juyeon not stepped in, who knows what other kind of trouble he would’ve gotten himself into.
in general, he’s very much of a people person and extroverted. he finds it easy to talk to people and isn’t afraid to. in fact, he loves the attention - be it bad or good, he craves and attracts it all at once. he likes to think the reason behind it was that he was just simply made to stand out and live in the moment, his sole purpose in life is to be the center of each and every conversation.
but he has learned to be real good at denying the resentment he feels for the real cause of it all; whether it be the fact that he was verbally abused and neglected at home, or that his family was slowly falling apart—his father having multiple affairs and his mother spending their endless riches on alcohol and drugs.
throughout his life, his friends have made him feel like family more than his actual one. it’s no surprise that he will easily develop a soft spot for each and every one of his friends. he’s unconditionally loyal to every single friendship he has, the biker won’t hesitate to go beyond his ways to defend and protect his friends. he jokes and plays around a lot - occasionally will pull random pranks the least you expect it but when he wants and has to be serious, he can. both in times when you need a pick-me-up or a shoulder to cry on after a long day, he’s the guy to go to.
