Denizen Hardwick is the protagonist of the Knights of the Borrowed Dark series by Dave Rudden. He's a 13-year-old boy from Ireland who grew up in an orphanage, where he had a single friend and was perfectly content with that, until he was whisked away by a mysterious aunt to a world a words made of sunlight and extradimensional shapeshifters.
He's grumpy. He has trust issues and he's skeptical of everything, but when it comes down to it, he does the right thing, whether that's risking frying his brain using a dangerous power way above his experience level to save a child; dragging himself into a monster-infested orphanage to save the monster king's daughter after being betrayed, watching his aunt get shot, and nearly getting shot himself because no one else is gonna do it; or escorting said monster princess to the ends of the Earth, into another dimension, and helping her save the omniverse even after learning she was using him all along. Even, especially, when he's alone, when it would be so easy for him to just give up, he does the right thing. Because that's what it means to be brave.
Some more cool things about Denizen:
I lied he's not cool at all. He's a cringefail 13-year-old bookworm with anxiety forced into situations he doesn't want to be in, learning how to open up and trust and forgive people. He spent his whole life closed-off, afraid people would hurt him and leave him if they let him in, and then he meets someone who he clicks with, who becomes his friend in under a month, only for them to shoot his mom (his mom was pretending to be his aunt, also she survives don't worry; one does not simply shoot Vivian Hardwick and expect her to die) and nearly shoot him. But instead of using this to reinforce his previous fears, he opens up more in the aftermath. He makes more friends, he becomes more understanding and forgiving.
He numbers his frowns! He has 27 numbered frowns by the end of the trilogy, including gems such as Frown No. 5--Don't Patronize Me, Adult aka I See What You're Doing/I Know What You're Up To/Don't Lie To Me And Pretend You're About To Trigger An Interdimensional War Just To See What I'll Do, You Smarmbucket and Frown No. 8--I Am Missing Something Important Here, Which Is Unfair Because It Concerns Me, as well as more mundane ones such as Frown No. 1--I Don't Understand and Frown No. 4--Give Nothing Away.
He has fire powers! They correspond to and intensity his anger issues, and he is very bad at controlling them at first but he works with his mom and develops strategies for keeping both his powers and his anger in check.
There is virtually no fandom for Knights of the Borrowed Dark on tumblr. I'm pretty sure only like ten people on the entire site have even read the books. Before this tournament started, the last post in Denizen Hardwick's tag had been from July 29, 2022. That's almost a year ago.
He is SUCH a squimbus, but he's an absolutely fantastic character from an amazing book series, so please vote for him!

I took a look at Shuu's tag and it seems pretty decently populated, not huge but there's some fanart and people talking about him, which is more than I can say about Denizen. Again, before this tournament started, the last post in Denizen's tag was from July 29, 2022, and even then, most of the posts in his tag were made by me.

He's so obscure his tag isn't even officially recognized yet, despite him being the main character of the KotBD series. Three of the six works in the fandom, and two of the three that tag Denizen, were written by me.
