False Killer Whales with some calves in tow! This sighting came from April 2016; we also sighted them one month prior (to the date) to this, as well as past years in the months of March and April.
False Killer Whales are pretty unusual for Southern California, but this particular group historically seems to enjoy visiting us in the spring time.

Oh my!

Meet Jett. She’s one of the girls we regularly encounter off Bremer. Underwater footage really highlights their personalities. The white patch above her eye helps us distinguish her from other killer whales, its like a human finger print.
a dream come true: ORCAS IN THEIR NATURAL HABITAT!
they examined our cruise vessel inquisitively and played in our stern wave! to watch these gentle giants from up close was such a beautiful once in a lifetime experience! they stayed quite a while so i could enjoy the moment and still take some neat pics. thank you for this special day, guys! stay safe.
One of the most beautiful photos of Sri Lankan orcas I’ve ever seen!
This photo was captured by Josh Barton on April 15th off Mirissa when this curious female approached his boat and gazed up at him. OPSL is still working on IDs for this female and her pod.

Oh how we miss the chilly dives in Norway! This a photo Keiko Conservationist @chiaraphoto captured in January!
Grateful and excited to be heading out on the water tomorrow for the first trip of the season 💙
