with her husband gone for the moment, sigyn had felt– distant. she felt like she did every time he left. she had been sad for a long time and she was saddened now. the once strong woman; now staring into the distance for the other piece of her heart. she didn’t hear the footsteps behind her until she felt a familiar presence. “Oh. Hello, my darling….”
It was never easy when Loki wasn’t around. It inevitably made Kaleb antsy, and an antsy Kaleb was one who was bound to start getting into mischief. In times like these Sigyn was always something of a grounding presence to them. Though when they see her looking sad they hesitate for a moment to approach her. When she inevitably notices them though they’re sporting a smile, trying to cheer her up. “Hey! Is everything alright?”

“Never apologize to other people. They don’t deserve it.”
“I feel like that’s supposed to be my line,” Kaleb said, a smirk on their lips. “Still, good advice, thank you.”

Kaleb Lokichild task 001 ; wanted connections
blayzcit:
Blayze pulls his hand back after while nodding his head. “It’s nice to meet you Kaleb. I’m the son of Zatanna Zatara and John Constantine. I am indeed a sorcerer. I have to speak my spells backwards though.” He says with a laugh, but he doesn’t mind demonstrating if the other wants to see. “Which is fine because like I’m fluent in speaking backwards because of it.”
Kaleb thought they had heard it all when it came to magic, but to be honest the idea of backwards spells was new to them. Though they weren’t the kind to demand a show they’d be lying if they said they weren’t curious to see it. “That sounds cool. Recently I’ve been working on trying to cast spells with sign language.”

buffy loved abusing their elder sibling privilege. sure, it was a concept that weirded them out at first, but know ? buffy was well aware of what they could get away with at any moment. ‘ hey, hey hey ~ ‘ their strong build pushed open the door, pulling their sibling into a one armed bear hug. ‘ SO ; learnt any cool magic tricks recently ? ‘
Kaleb returns the hug somewhat loosely, not wanting to encourage Buffy’s hug too much. “Oh yeah I learned this cool card trick the other day. I’ve also learned plenty of spells lately too,” as they say the word spell they elbow Buffy lightly in their side.
lckispawn:
“Oh, yeah, sure. I’m the nerd. First of all, that’s not even an insult anymore. Nerds are cool now.” To other nerds, at least. But, like, you’d be hard pressed to find people who didn’t share some of Silas’s geekier interests. Best not to let them find his stash of dice, then. “Yeah, I know they are. And they know that, too. They make special jails now. Dunno how much difficult a mutant jail would be to get me out of.” On paper, at least, he was very much still classified as such.
“I played Dungeons and Dragons when people thought it made you a loser and a satanist. I’ve been shoved into enough lockers to know nerd when I see it.” Kaleb had no problem admitting their own nerdy history, and they didn’t entirely understand why, in their humble opinion, people like Silas these days were simultaneously so proud and ashamed of it. Sure, they still had their collections of toys, but they were collectors items now. Kaleb thought that was rather foolish. “Spoken like someone who's never broken out of asgardian prison. Our own grandfather can’t hold us down. The midgardians don’t stand a chance.”
blayzcit:
Blayze looks down at the stick then back over to the stranger. He takes a quick drag before blowing some smoke out into the air. “Nah, that’s about it. Thanks a lot.” He keeps the lit cigarette between two of his fingers, but offers up the other hand to shake the other’s. “Blayze Constantine. It’s always cool meeting other magic users.”
Kaleb’s eyes practically light up when Blayze mentions being a magic user, though they found it to be an odd way to phrase someone’s magical abilities. Kaleb takes the hand the other offered and gives it a firm shake. “I am Kaleb, child of Loki. You’re also a sorcerer?”
Leda raced through the halls of the Stark Industries building, dodging passersby and clearing flights of stairs in a single leap. When she came to the lobby, she bumped into someone and sent them careening to the floor.
“I’m sorry!” she cried, not slowing a step. Outside the sidewalks were full of people going about their business, and Leda moved between them with the same attempt at care as she had before. Thankfully, this time she didn’t send anyone sprawling out into the street.
She stopped at the crosswalk, looking all around before turning her attention to the nearest person to her. “There was a guy––Tall, middle aged I think, dark hair. He was wearing a-a black suit! He just came through here. Which way did he go?”
Kaleb watched the frantic stranger as she looked around for whoever it was she was searching for. When she offered the description of the man she was searching for it was a little too close to a possible description of their parent for Kaleb’s comfort. So immediately they set about misdirecting her. They’d seen no such man, but they weren’t going to let that stop them. “I think they went that way”, Kaleb pointed in a random direction as they spoke. “Why, did something happen?” Kaleb used their finely tuned fake concern voice.
@cfrevolution
“and– hey, hey! nope!” silas leaned over from their place on the floor, snagging the small figurine he could practically feel the other staring at. “don’t even start. it’s a collector’s item.” it’s an action figure. but if he’s learned anything about this ragtag family he’s apparently a part of, calling it anything else isn’t going to help. diverting back to the original topic it is. “anyway. why the hell would i hack the cia? i’d go to, like, super mutant prison or something. i don’t look good in yellow.”
Little did Silas know that calling it a collectors item just made Kaleb want to grab the glorified toy even more than they already did. They weren’t going to fight Silas for it though, and instead they turned their attention to the rest of Silas’s collectables, trying to match the items to their hazy mix of the last 100 years pop culture. “You do know it only makes you sound like more of a nerd when you call them that, right?” Kaleb inquired with a slight tilt of their head. “We would break you out,” they offer nonchalantly. “It wouldn’t be the first time one of us ended up in jail, and human jails are,” kaleb paused for dramatic affect, “pathetic.”
The boy makes a face as he realizes his lighter wasn’t in his pocket. “Fuck.” There’s a cigarette resting between his lips, but he pulls it out with frustration. “Hey! Do you have a light by chance?” Blayze would rather try to ask someone else before he uses a spell to get it done the lazy way. He flashes a smile, always friendly when asking for a favor. He might be a little reckless, but despite that he was still SOFT inside.
“Of course,” Kaleb was never one to resist the urge to use or show off their own magic. They were far too proud of their mastery of the art for that. “ᚲᚺᛒᚱ,“ Kaleb said as they tapped their finger to the end of cigarette and lighting it for the other. Kaleb hummed softly is satisfaction with themself before giving the other a smile. “Do you need anything else?”
lcufeysonsloki:
loki was completely unamused as he walked towards his child. while he had no problems with his children going around practicing their own mischiefs, he had many things against they being careless about it ―― attention to details was, after all, paramount in the accomplishment of everything. long and firm digits grabbed kaleb’s arm, cold blue eyes, that reflected loki’s true & frozen lineage, stared directly at them during the same time. ʻ ʿ yes, there is a problem here, kaleb. ʾ ʼ the god’s voice, as per usual, was bland and locked inside a low tone ―― his face, however, didn’t hide the dissatisfaction with what was happening there. ʻ ʿ you got caught. and if i caught you, anyone can. you know better than this, child. you can’t be that careless, or i’ll end up having to look for the new you again, sooner than i expected. ʾ ʼ
Kaleb wouldn’t lie and say it didn’t hurt to see their parent disappointed in them, but they handled it well. It wasn’t like it was the first time nor was it likely to be the last. Nor was it necessarily an unfair criticism to point out that Kaleb’s impulsive nature could get them in trouble. It had been the end of them more than once. “With all due respect, you aren’t anyone,” Kaleb’s tone was genuinely respectful. They really weren’t trying to talk back, just defend themselves somewhat. “I don’t think they kill you for stealing anymore,” bold words for someone who had lost a limb and a life or two in the past for this very crime. “Shouldn’t you be expecting, though? Grass grows, birds fly, I die young,” the words were a little sassy, but their tone was something closer to concern. An overt attachment to one time or place or life had always been a recipe for disaster in Kaleb’s eyes.
asgardianbeavty:
“So thou had a vision of this?” Gentle fingers ran through raven locks as she took a step closer to the child. “You have forseen the human’s state? He truly did not need that money? Not for food or warmth?” Her gentle tone turned stern. “Return the money, my moon. Thou hast no need for it. Do we not give you want you seek? What you want?” It really confused her. Had she not given them the world? Given them so much love, even when others told her not to? That she should have abandoned the bastard children of her husband? Yet she could not nor would she ever.
For a minute Kaleb considered trying to pass it off like they had had a vision, that there was some devine reason as to why this person needed their wallet stolen, already in their head they were spinning a whole story about the lesson in the meaningless of money, and how he would use his wealth better now. But they doubted Sigyn would fall for their stories, even if they were mythically well constructed.
“Well he’s wearing a five thousand dollar suit for starters, so if it was going to hurt so bad that could be sold like,” they snap their fingers to finish that statement, and as they do the wallet disappears from the hand they’re holding it in and reappears in its owner's hand. “I just wanted to have some fun,” they reply sheepishly.
asgardianbeavty:
Sigyn was used to the nature of her step-children. But she that didn’t make her love them any less. Yes. They were not of her womb but in her eyes; she was their mother. She had been out and about for fresh air, having left Frigga with Loki. She caught a glimpse of her dearest Kaleb so she decided to sneak up on them. Much to her dismay; they seemed to be doing wrong. For centuries she kept quiet about her husband’s wrongdoing but she was not going to let that example of the children. “Kaleb, my moon… hand it over.”
Busted! Kaleb stares a little blankly at Sigyn for a moment as they try to think of something smooth to say to get out of this, the gears turning in their head but finding nothing for good ideas. All that comes out when they eventually speak is a soft somewhat embarrassed sounding, “Mom.” If Kaleb was going to listen to anyone who wasn’t Loki Sigyn was the next best bet, but still they hesitated to hand over their ill gotten goods. “Come on, that guy’s not gonna miss a little cash.”
Kaleb wasn’t paying much attention as they wandered around town. In fact they were rather bored, even in New York someone like Kaleb could occasionally run out of things to do. So with nothing left to do but cause some minor mischief they set out across the city to do just that. They started with a simple task, merely pick pocketing someone and relieving them of their wallet. It went off without a hitch, and they were striding away proudly when someone grabbed them by the arm. They played it cool though, barely flinching at the unwanted and sudden contact. “Is there a problem?”
