The craziest part about my m3gan 2.0 descent into madness is that, in the time it's taken me to write three chapters, I've concurrently written, directed, and produced a short film which is now in post-production (meaning I'm editing it), got a steady-ish job, and lined up another directorial project for June.

This m3gan 2.0 k-hole has, quite literally, kickstarted my creative juices for the most consistent time since 2018.

Like, do you have any idea how hard it is to write an entire script (albeit, it was a four page script), organize a table read, audition actors, coordinate a production team, location scout, schedule regular rehearsals, and then SHOOT a film?

It's been like. Four months? And in those four months, my creative output basically quadrupled.

Completely insane, but thank you m3gan 2.0 for (apparently) flopping at the box office so hard, my brother in law put it on in the background while we carved Halloween pumpkins. Your one weird throwaway line really scratched my brain so good it fixed almost a decade of writer's block and is gonna have me submitting to festivals for summer 2026. For the first time ever.

It's going to be preaching to the converted saying this in this tag, but: god, it's so funny when you see people being like "um well I liked M3GAN, but Gemma is soooo annoying, she shouldn't be in these films".

It's like... yes, well done, you've correctly identified that she is kind of grating - that's on purpose, the fact that she's like that drives the story! She's M3GAN's narrative foil!

You get the impression that some people's ideal M3GAN film would just be a formulaic slasher movie where all she does is repeatedly show up, drop a sassy catchphrase and then kill someone, and doesn't actually interact with anyone as a character, which is so ridiculous to me.
