no i do think about the implication--or rather, fact--that the new gods are huge. colossal, by comparison to earth. it was stated in a supergirl comic; but the reason why you need to go through boom/hush tubes to get to the fourth world is because there is a size manipulation that needs to take place as you pass into another reality to get there which makes you proportionate. otherwise, if you get to the fourth world any other way, you're going to be tiny. there's a likely implication that if a new god were to go to earth through a different method than a boom tube, they would be huge.

they are gods, after all. there's a fundamental difference between them and humans--of those of the main dc universe.

All the same, Clark had to admit that Scott had a certain habit for getting himself into the most peculiar of situations. Each trap seemed stranger and more intricate the last, though thankfully all of them had yet to succeed in their purpose. And hopefully would continue to fail, so long as they kept tackling these things as a team. Two heads were better than one, after all, especially when facing odd contraptions made by people with even odder imaginations!

Scott always made it fun, though. It didn't always feel fun in the moment—there'd been a fair few times it had been nothing short of terrifying, in fact—but none of them were unpleasant memories to look back on. It was... amazing, to watch him work. The amazing Mister Miracle was the very embodiment of an unstoppable force, pushing tirelessly against immoveable objects until somehow, some way, he made them move. Where Clark would have moved onto plan B, Scott simply remained locked onto plan A, doing all he could to race them full-force into his solution.

It always worked, too. Like a wish came true. Like some kind of... miracle...

Oh. So that's where the name comes from!

It would be nice to spend some more time with him. The idea of spending tonight holed up somewhere, eating fast food alone, wasn't one he found particularly appealing, anyway. Especially not when compared to an offer like this!

some trouble. whatever variety of either random chaos he dragged in or apokoliptian forces it was; scott would always be grateful for the help. as confident as he often was in his ability to escape from anything and everything--especially anyone his ol granny sent after him and his beloved barda; it wasn't always a hundred percent sort of deal! being the god of freedom didn't make him immune to the possibility of a trap that temporarily caught him after all! although this time he hadn't had barda to help...as good a friend and hero as superman was; the true duo he would be in was always with his wife! the kryptonian was a fine substitute nonetheless.

he let out a sort of laugh at the idea of clark imposing on them, and waved a dismissive hand as he pulled down the collar of his cape to better see. it was certainly aesthetically pleasing, but he wouldn't lie and say it didn't get in the way sometimes! scott free's hand moved to get motherbox; then stopped and scratched the back of his neck--earth was too small, yes, couldn't just do that...instead he stopped his reach.

" we could fly there! i'll take my aero discs and so long as you can keep up we'll be there in no time! "

he hopped up on the transparent discs, and glanced back at clark, giving his own big smile--yet somehow smaller when in comparison to when the escape artist actually had his mask on.

" --barda won't mind at all, i'm sure! "

a quiet huh escapes his throat before he nods. he guessed he could see the idea behind it--someone who has a tight fighting mask...and being bald? yeah, that checks out--reminds him of lex luthor; though he hasn't exactly seen that man wearing a mask before. that one seemed proud of his shining head.

" a low laugh echoing from his throat while the escape artist sat crouched in his own sort of workshop of technology. some advanced, some simply traps to escape from for the next show; others from apokolips—or new genesis. others just...things he picked up, or were gifted. old things of thaddeus; the original mister miracle. currently, however, scott sat with a piece of fabric from his constume splayed out with motherbox circuitry being meticulously stitched into it. he had been integrating the technology into his suit since...really before he was so invested! he figured he should do some more...especially with a possible change of scenery.

his laugh faded the more he thought of it; the less focused he was on what his hands were doing, pressing small tools against each piece and his attention split between clint and the quiet pingsof motherbox, giving little helpful tips and directions.

how he reminisced in a way that seemed almost like he was talking about his experience riding a bike as a kid, or going to some kind of summer house or camping. even if the context of his stories were less play and more torture. that was just how apokolips was, it was how the orphanages were. how they still are.

new issue of new gods and i am so ............ conflicted ............ like!!! i don't think it's necessarily bad; but even this new issue just :/ it's fine. it's so perfectly mundane!!! it's fine!!! but it could be so much better and that makes me sad :') since the new gods stuff has been kinda in purgatory since death of the new gods!!!
