This is based on the time at Maggie Stiefvater’s 7 Sentences, with Court Stevens, when Stiefvater flat-out said that Ronan uses memes (which she pronounces may-mays) to express his feelings so he doesn’t have to say them, and then went on to give the specific example of “for instance, the murder squash song is how Ronan says ‘I love you Gansey’ without having to say ‘I love you Gansey’”.
