Family in the Fall
Self Portraits A.K.A. Selfies
What is it about girls... we hate and love to get our picture taken. We love to have great pictures of ourselves but the moment a camera points our direction we couldn't "act natural" if our lives depended on it.
I love taking pictures. One reason is because I'm always behind the camera and never in front.
But let's face it... women are just beautiful.
Strikingly beautiful! And you, if you're a woman, can't help it. So in an effort to get the best of the old Canon I'm starting a self portrait project.
It will be fun and it will be awful. You'll get to see some favorites and some of the worst. And when the camera is pointed at me and all the things get brought to the surface of what I wish was "just a little bit different..." I will instead choose to listen to the Father and let Him tell me what He thinks about me. You may or may not get to get in on that part :o)
Ending out the year right.
Your Norman Photographer
I want to remember the place where everyday life happens. I want to make monuments out of everyday moments. These moments help us remember things that may otherwise be overlooked.
Welcome to Champagne&Blush.
This is a collection of our favorite snapshots and glimpses into the lives of people we've met. We capture moments of remembrance for those who love to remember. From birth, to marriage, to 75th anniversaries, and everything in between.
What are your moments?
Went for a walk with this little lady.
Our Tulsa
I was surprised by our last trip to Tulsa. I had no idea how great it has become in the last few years. Philip and I ate the most delicious food at Laffa in Tulsa. Spent a ridiculous and wonderful amount of time at Foolish Things Coffee, and then stopped at a few (yes, a few) food trucks the next day for lunch, ran to Retro Den and got to sit in a cozy vintage living room set while we talked life with one of the owners, Ashley. How did I not know how great Tulsa was??
I love Norman, Oklahoma. Love it. I love the amount of camaraderie there is in our hipster-loving-football-playing town... but I'm also excited to see Oklahoma as a whole becoming proud of who we are and expressing our creativity in ways we deem worthy. Thanks for killin it Tulsa. We'll be back soon.
A Proverb
My suggestion to anyone and everyone when it's cold outside.... SNUGGLE!
This is such a powerful and beautiful family. They're moving away from Norman soon and wanted one last session of photos in some of their favorite places on campus. I'll be sad to see them go but I'm excited for the exciting changes that are coming!
These sweet babies could be all yours! I wish my entire house was filled to the brim with albums like these. Make touchable-show-off-able Champagne&Blush albums full of photos from your session.
Two(sday) Truths & A Lie
I have never broken a bone in my body
I slept in a hammock when I was in college
I hit a half court shot at the buzzer in a basketball game in high school
What beautiful and fun people! I love heading to Tulsa for great weddings like these.
I love intricacies. A birdcage veil, beautiful eyes, the way you smile with nervous excitement before you walk down the aisle... those are the things we want to remember and pass on to our kids. The little things that make us... us.
The challenge is to always listen and to act upon that little voice of creative compulsion… The voice that you recognize through the faint echo of something akin to hunger pangs. Create with courage or disappear in the well-rehearsed actions of the fearful." -unknown
