No, Chancellor, of course not. I’m happy to be of use to the Dominion.
But you must have some thought regarding the manner in which you serve. Please, you may speak freely.

@chancellorfrostfall
No, Chancellor, of course not. I’m happy to be of use to the Dominion.
But you must have some thought regarding the manner in which you serve. Please, you may speak freely.
chancellorfrostfall replied to your post:And this is what I have to do, now. No more…
Yes. I believe you should.
[She startles, her magic saving the inkwell from falling over.] Chancellor! I’m sorry, you’re correct.
I am quite aware, Ceridwen. I take this to mean that you are displeased with your present workload.
Ah, the weather is beginning to turn. My poor garden might even begin to thrive.
[Deep breath, nod, and follow]
[Sunnatar glances at Ceri over his shoulder] The time for nervousness has passed, Miss Rennidae, I assure you.
I am prepared to begin immediately, sir.
That's good. With me, then. [He beckons]
I—no, sir.
Good. How soon would you prefer that we begin?
Thank you, Chancellor, I— [oh, wait. What? Oh, gods.] A-are you certain, Chancellor? Surely you have more important matters to attend to than overseeing an aide.
You have objections?
[Rehabilitation sounds so much like re-education. She swallows.] Yes, sir. Thank you for this chance.
It is your due. Your work, aside from that one grave mistep, is of an exceeding quality. I'm certain you recall that you were to be assigned a supervisor. Regretably, our numbers here in Skyrim are spread very thin. As such, you will be permitted to return to work under my personal supervision.
chancellorfrostfall replied to your post:Ah, Ceridwen. There you are. May I have a word?
Forgive me. Did I startle you?
No, sir. I was just surprised.
I hear it is rather difficult to be startled without being surprised. At any rate, you have my apologies. I've come to discuss the matter of your rehabilitation.
Sunset
In the last hours of Heart's Day, Sunnatar rode out to look at the sea. The sun was setting, by the time he arrived on the shore, and it would be dark by the time he returned to the chancery. Still, there was nowhere else he ought to have been, but here, listening to the waves. He dismounted and tied his horse securely, not quite ready to draw closer to the water. Heart's Day. He frowned thoughtfully into the dark, alighting it with magicka, which glittered on the water. It was usually better not to think too much about Loralia, or to remember how he had held her life in the balance, and forfeited it. How he had robbed his own children of their mother... But surely on Heart's Day, an exception could be made. Of course, her remains were safely interred in Alinor, but they had walked the shores, there, when everything had been in order. This was as much a visit as he could pay to her. It would have to suffice. Sunnatar fetched his lute from the large saddlebag he had stowed it in, and sat for awhile by the frigid water, playing to the waves and the last lights of day.
[He grinds his teeth.]
An incorrect one, Chancellor.
[He smiles] I see. Well, then. I suspect that will be all?
Yes, yes, we were all dazzled by your unnecessarily tyrannical display of power. You didn’t fool anyone.
I'm quite sure I have no idea what accusation you are attempting to make.
Like Oblivion it’s for my own benefit. Reoffend? It was an accident and you know that.
I believe I've made my position on your prior offense very clear, Justiciar.
[He takes the dossier, suspiciously leafing through it. He had expected a simple assignment that was boring and difficult to mess up, of course, but he had not expected to be docked in rank and… and given a new team? He angrily snaps the file shut.]
This is not my team, Chancellor. Why have I been reassigned?
This is your first assignment after a long suspension. I am disinclined to place you in a position to reoffend so early in your reinstatement. This is for your benefit.
thespectralarrow replied to your post: thespectralarrow asked:[Arveldis ...
[He takes a couple of tentative steps inside the doorway.] Of course.
I'm pleased to hear it. I have your first patrol assignment. [He takes the corresponding dossier from his desk] It will be brief and rehabilitative, and your report will be submitted to me, once it has been completed.
[Arveldis knocks politely on the frame of Sunnatar's open office door.] Chancellor.
Ah. Justiciar. You are impeccably on time. [He smiles, and stands from his desk] I trust you found your time away duly educational.
Perhaps one year, one year, Heart's Day will pass without my daughters uprooting my garden. I've never seen so much dirt in all my life.
