🏃🏽‍♀️... My dear heart @maurisaliaping asked how do we, as creatives, persist... or not? i have many thoughts on this question. (A lot of those thoughts pop up in my #SayThatAgain IGTV ✨ chats.) What i'll say in this moment though is some of that fuel for me comes from being part of breathing life into stories that can help us take a real look at our world. • • • • • • • • This frame was a particularly intense moment in this film about the abuse of power by the police mixed with racial discrimination and class tension. Long overnight shoots, juggling stunt coordination, cold temperatures (and anyone who knows me knows how i feel about chilly weather 😒) but, with my face against that police car for several takes, i was incredibly energized by knowing the power & reach that happens when we truly tell these stories.
