list of my jobs and responsibilities in panto
My tech role for pantomime was helping paint the set. This meant I needed to meet up with those other people who also have set as their role and discuss when and where we are going to be painting and what colours we need. We decided that Joe was going to draw out a almost medieval city of London town on three plain white plaques which we could later start to paint with him giving us instructions of the colours we needed. From the very start of the pantomime term I had the responsibilities of... • Learning the lines for my audition for the “Fairy” and a song to then perform in front of the tutors. • Once I was given the “Fairy” it was then my responsibility to learn all my lines in a decent amount of time so I was ready for the performance. • I needed to make sure I made notes of all the blocking and movement I was given in session so that I could work on them in my own time and remember them for when we re-visited the scenes. • I needed to turn up to each session with my script and a pen and pencil so that I was ready to rehearse and annotate when needed. • I had to show up to each rehearsal in correct clothing that was black and loose so that I could move around and nothing was restricting me. • Once we got further with the performance it was my responsibility to make a list of what props I needed for my character and the costume I was going to wear to then hand it to a member in charge of props and costume who could help me out. • My fairy was a peppy fairy so I took her down the cheerleader route, I had gave her pom poms and brought a cheerleading costume and this was my job as actor because only I knew where I wanted to the character and how I wanted to look. • After we had been given props and set up prop tables it was my job to make sure prop table B at the back corner of stage right was always set up before every rehearsal and that all props were returned aswell as my personal props being on the props table near the green room so I can easily grab them. • When show week arrived it was my responsibility to turn up in the morning early giving me enough time to get my hair and makeup done and get in costume and check all props are where they should be. • After each performance it was my responsibility to put back all the props I had used and place my costume on the rail ready for my next show.
