Very Silly Concept: a show called "Accessibility Nightmares" but it's structured exactly like Kitchen Nightmares. An accessibility specialist goes to different establishments and helps them make their businesses more accessible.
The accessibility specialist asks why the door at the top of the small set of stairs has a wheelchair symbol on it. The owner replies that's the accessible bathroom. The camera zooms in on the specialist as they process this information.
A customer with a service dog comes in to a restaurant. The hostess tells them they don't allow dogs. The accessibly specialist looks over at the hostess like
And there are web accessibility episodes too. The accessibility specialist stares at the white text on the light pink background of the home page like
The specialist asks why not a single product picture has alt text, and the business owner says "Well I mean, it's makeup, why would a blind person be shopping for makeup?" The specialist just
The specialist asks the web designer how a screen reader user is supposed to complete the captcha portion of the password reset process when there is no audio alternative. The designer admits they don't know.
#this post has 10k notes to me
When you left this tag three days ago, I thought "that's so sweet, but no. No way this concept is even close to that popular."
How To Draw A Horse by Emma Hunsinger in this weekâs New Yorker magazine.
you're not an horrible person you are 15 years old
"you can be 15 years old and also a terrible person" teenagers do stupid shit all the time, adults do stupid shit all the time, what matters is that you learn about that and that you don't let that define you. you are figuring out yourself and you never really stop doing that.
this is a thing i saw on tiktok and it's been bothering me forever and ever. okay yeah you took bad decisions/hurted people/etc. but that doesn't mean that you're destinated to hurt people or to be a bad person forever and ever. perhaps at the moment you thought what you were doing was good. perhaps you were trying to protect yourself. perhaps you just didn't know any better. perhaps you thought that it wouldn't be that bad. whatever thing you've might've done on the past doesn't define you in any sort of way. you are a human being and you will do a lot of mistakes until you die. putting yourself down won't help on anything. others putting you down doesn't mean anything. don't let your mistakes be something that defines you, but let them be a reminder that you're still here and that you can grow as a person.
if this breaches containment I'll be genuinely happy. be kinder to yourselfs. life is about growing and learning, not about punishing and denying.

FUCKING HELL ITâS BACK FROM LAST YEAR
This literally gets reblogged every 15th of the month. Itâs almost two years old. Itâs beautiful.
listen up yaâll this post is 6 years old now and youâre still reblogging it. every month. once a month, my notifications blow up for this one video, but only until the 16th. then the notes on this vid completely stop. itâs so eerily spot on and impressive how you just all collectively know what to do. if Iâm not online, people irl still remind me that itâs the 15th. thank you for six surreal years of me wondering if I completely fucking lost it. hereâs to the 15th
Help I remember reblogging this last year đ

I ended up having a really interesting conversation with some people at the bus stop today. They were getting out of some sort of âclean and soberâ meeting and had starting saying how they were so bored because they didnât have anything to do, and had to stay at home because all their old friends would pull them back. So I said something like, âSo this is the time to do all the stuff your parents told you they didnât have money/time for!â âWhatcha mean?â âYou know, like when you were five and you REALLY wanted to have that toy or do that thing and you were like, âPlease mom please I gotta have this I gotta go do thisâ and they went âHell no you think Iâm paying for that do you want to goddamn EAT?â â And this light went on in their eyes. The lady is going to go check thrift stores for an Easybake Oven and I told her about Wilton cake decorating classes. The dude is going to Griffith Park and ride horses, because, âI always wanted to be a cowboy, and you canât drink when youâre on a horse âcause youâll fucking die!â Fuck it. This is what being an adult is. Sure itâs bills and work and relationships, but damn it, itâs also time to do the things you LIKE. I signed up for a free class/lecture on Water Gardens. Iâm going. Itâs time.
Jill. Jill you are wonderful.
no joke, this is such an important aspect of overcoming trauma. I mean the trauma of abusive parents, the trauma of broke ass parents who got toxic because of it, the trauma of capitalism. Like fuck it. Go to Wrestlemania. Build a shit ton of terrariums.
This is genuinely a big part of sobriety, learning who you are and want to be as a person, what your interests are, what you like doing now that youâre focused on being a human and not being addicted.
I have so much time and money (relatively) for reading and writing and learning and everything else now that Iâm not centering my days around drinking, and now that I have therapeutic skills and am not automatically drinking away any way that I feel. Big Sobriety Win.

using "what were YOU doing at the devils sacrament" to mean "yeah i made an embarrassing reference but you understood it which is also embarrassing" is very funny to me
my favorite part is that absolutely nobody says this except here. so if you use it in public, it's a dead giveaway that you spent the last ten years on tumblr. but then again, they recognized it, which means they were at the devil's sacrament
I tested this theory in the wild the other day at work. I was on a call with my department lead and a few other folks and I replied to an email the DL had sent me, thinking that, because he was on this call, he wouldn't notice when I sent it and would not catch me multitasking.
However, he replied to said email within five minutes, asking a question that required an answer. So I answered and was like "Also, I was going to apologize for answering emails during this call, but I see we're both here at the Devil's Sacrament, so I don't think an apology is necessary."
I watched him read that on screen and try not to laugh. And then at the end of the call as everyone started saying goodbye, he goes, "Hey, MJ, I meant to tell you. I like your shoelaces."
And I looked straight into my camera, stone cold serious, and said, "Thanks. I stole them from the president."
And the rest of the team was like, "What...the fuck...?" before he abruptly ended the call for everyone.
So now my DL and I know this about each other. He could be any one of us.
At a certain point, the appropriate response to "What were you doing at the devil's sacrament" becomes "stealing shoelaces from the president."
Reblog if you were stealing shoelaces from the President
Well what ELSE were we supposed to do at the devil's sacrament????
Historically? Black magic and kinky sex.
