Much to think about
Went to eat Malaysian food for first time and got Nasi Goreng Kampung. It was super good and the restaurant i ate at was relatively good priced. Why didn't the ancestors bring this to South Africa when they were brought there (the answer is Nasi Goreng is modern).
Hey I wanted to thank everyone for helping us with rent, we were able to pay that at least and we’ll figure out other bills later.
I recently welcomed a new bundle of joy into my life as an infant family member was placed into my custody.
She’s a week from being four months and while the state will be helping us with monthly payments and WIC, because she’s only been in my custody for a short period of time it’ll be at least a week before I can use those services. It was also unexpected - I didn’t know she was born and even after they contacted me, it was a ping ponging situation. Then they’re asking if we’re available for placement within a week.
Suffice to say, we didn’t have a lot of time and resources to fully prepare. We have formula and diapers but they’re running low and I’d rather she not run out before I can use those services to help pay for her needs.
If you could send a few bucks so we can re-up our supply before her WIC appointment next week, that would be much appreciated. We are a queer multiracial couple and first time parents.
Thank you so much to this community, you’ve helped us so much over the years.

I saw someone describe Satrapi as a "Monarchist". From what I'm aware she is not at all a Pahlavist? She was more of a liberal from a family of socialists who were suppressed by Pahlavists force if I'm correct.
Her being a liberal zionist is quite disappointing though and I will not buy Persepolis but read it online when I get around to it
Also her making up things wholesale in Persepolis... Not looking good.

Just heard a Tawny Owl... Epic.
I almost forgot to go birdwatching today, and I am now in the E.R zone (European Robins are the only mfs awake).
Oh i see North Indian scripts are evil.
I'll be adding Bangla to the proper rotation of languages I'm learning and then at some point Xhosa.
Tamil spelling would not be a problem if they didn't have three n's (ந, ண, ன), three l's (ள, ல, ழ) and two r's (ர, ற). The two t's (ட, த) can at least be distinguished although I personally struggle to distinguish them and the ழ is pretty noticeable if it's pronounced properly and not as an l, but the rest? People do not pronounce them as they're supposed to be so it's hard.
Grammar is fine, it's just quite different to Spanish and Afrikaans which makes sense - whole other language family and all. So, it's hard to comprehend but I think once I get the rules of it, I'll understand somewhat.

So I found out why "big stupid round moron" the woodpigeon has been knocking over my birdfeeder to eat from it and it's because she has 2 chick's. Well they aren't chick's anymore they're juveniles and the three of them hang from my shitty balcony waiting for me to put treats out for them still. The 2 small ones still eat from their mothers mouth which is very disconcerting since they are almost the same size as her but you know. She is big stupid round mama.
Tamil is a hard language to crack. So muṭi does mean not "be able to" but muṭiyum is the word for "can"? The mind of the simple indo-european creole speaker can not comprehend complexities of Dravidian grammar.
