…Did Shadow, of all people, just say please?
That alone had stopped Sonic in his tracks and, for a second, all he could do was stare at the other hedgehog as though he was trying to determine if this was a trick or not. Of course Shadow wasn’t looking at him but somehow that helped the hero make up his mind and he obediently sat back down with a new - and almost proud - smile tugging at his lips.
“Fine, have at it.”
That damned smile that Sonic directed at him only made Shadow want to curl up more. His ears ducked and he still continued to not look at him, to not meet his eyes; he honed his attention instead on the injury. Because that was easier.
“Thank you,” he mumbled, words slurred in his fluster, and quickly he set about applying the bandages. He grasped onto Sonic’s arm with a firm, but not too hard, clasp to hold it still, while he used the other hand to wrap it. True to his word, he was more deliberate and careful this time; he made them taut enough that it would actually stave off the bleeding, but not so much that it would cut off his blood circulation entirely.
It may be any wonder how Shadow knew how to do this in the first place, but he’d learned not to question anything, even if he didn’t remember that far back. Far as he knew, he just picked it up somewhere.
He held the loose end with his teeth, tearing it off before grabbing a clip, which he then pressed to the end and then into the wrappings already around his arm. With that, he breathed a sigh. “There. That didn’t hurt too much, did it?” He sounded genuinely concerned about that.
