How does your power work?

I'm not sure I have a clear or complete answer to that question. At first, I thought it worked like any other seer's did... Glimpses of the future when the universe deemed it prudent to show me, but even then I knew that wasn't quite right.

As time went on, it wasn't just the futures I was privy to, but people's pasts... and then came their souls' pasts; like all of time was suddenly opening around me.

At first those glimpses were as random and unpredictable as the glimpses into the future. I had no control over any of it. I'd get hit with images as and when the universe deemed it so... sometimes at random and unprompted. Other times when I would be thinking about someone or when I'd touch them. It'd happen with Anna the most at first and then those I was closest to, and finally, anyone and everyone.

I can control those glimpses into the past mostly now... Choosing when to see even if I can't control what I see; though that's not to say the universe doesn't still choose to slap me with foresight when it wants to... Because it does.

All that said, though, I'm not sure I'll ever fully understand how my power works or why I'm the one it was "gifted" to.
