Not What it Looks Like || Charlie & Malcolm

It wasn’t until now that Malcolm realized how his shoulders carried tension and throughout the day had been waiting for time to settle for him to relax for his evening. He did not think he would need to await Diana’s return and felt obligated to converse with Charlie. This didn’t seem like a high problem to be caused anymore when she reached to refill his glass and he only brought it to his lips once more. There was no fault to someone who knew the right thing to be provided. At the time it was a drink in his hands and preferably small talk.
“Far worse. You are foolish if you think there are only three names on my list…I’m afraid most of the blood traitors save a select few as well as a friend of Diana’s…I do not think it is wise for anyone to be on that list-but, sooner or later they will be off of it,” Malcolm confesses through a slight blur of words. His lips curled in distaste at the thought of Laure slapping him once more. That woman did not have a mind for public normalcy behavior it seemed. “I did not mean because you are a girl. I meant because you are her cousin. Surely you know her better than most do,” Malcolm prompted, eyeing her over his glass as if challenging her to dispute that. “Diana loves attention and I love giving it to her.” Malcolm’s hand stilled at his shoulders at the comment and slid his gaze to hers politely. “Are you seriously offering to rub my back?” Malcolm’s small chuckle surprised him when it released from his lips but shrugged, swallowing down the short contents left before gesturing to himself. “I would love the pleasure of finding that out.”
Charlie was always stressed, which was one of the reasons she partied so heavily. She wished the weight of the world would simply disappear so that she could become young once again and enjoy life. But instead she worked for money, used the money to fucked up, and repeated the process over and over until it became the story of her life. Being under the influence helped her lighten up considerably, but never truly erased the pain. Another drink surely wouldn’t hurt anyone, though.
“Ahh well glad to hear that. At least I’m not in the top three most unbearable. I’ll drink to that,” she said with a smirk before pouring herself another glass. In the back of her mind, she knew she should cut herself off in this situation as to not anger Diana, but once she started, it was quite difficult to stop. “Maybe I know her better than most people, but I don’t think I truly understand the girl. Diana’s quite scatterbrained and it’s rather hard to keep up. There is always some new scoop that I happen to miss out on that seems to be important to everything else in her world.” Charlotte shrugged in resignation. To her surprise, Malcolm consented to the back rub, though she knew he wouldn’t be disappointed. The girl stood up and made her way over to him, standing behind him and placing her small hands on his shoulders. “Okay, but I swear my massages are life changing.”
