Summer Camp Firsts..
suzy && bas
bas: viral transmission? that sounds scary ๐ฑ๐ฑ๐ฑ
bas: feeding pigs sounds scarier. why would you do that.
bas: OH MY SPIRITS ARE IN THE AIR MY LOVE. HAVE I DREAM OF HOSTING AN ART EXHIBIT HERE.
bas: i am so happy that i can paint the walls with my joy and laughter this week.
bas: please tell me love what you plan? can i help in anyway?
suzy: Pigs have to eat too! they're actually very gentle animals and very loving if you give them a chance. I always begged my mother to let me keep one of my show pigs in the house but she started to tell me no when he exceeded 100lbs.
suzy: i don't doubt that they would actually allow you to paint the walls!
suzy: elaine and i haven't quite decided yet so i'm not sure. any suggestions?
suzy โ z
z: i'll link you. it's awesome. i always read this shit like carefully and make sure i remember names and stuff so that whenever i become famous i don't have to study them.
z: badass dude. get it. pretty sure whenever the native americans were like on the land-- women were all about the farming a shit. did u know that because women can tell shades of colors apart, they can tell poison berries and non poison one apart?
z: goat triples? how many goats does one goat have?
suzy: you seem pretty sure about that future. quite inspiring, really. I used to be so sure about that kind of thing, too.
suzy: I actually had no idea about that at all but that's rather incredible. I suppose that makes sense, especially as color blindness does run in the men of my family, too. No wonder women used to be the foragers. Though, I DO also love to go hunting. Have you ever tried that?
suzy && bas
bas: oh, i don't know that i do a lot of physical labor. what do you mean by physical labor? do you mean like weight lifting? because that's a lot of labor i would never want to do...
bas: yet, i'm still slower than a snail.
suzy: oh no gyms are a hotbed of viral transmission. ki always felt tired after a day of hauling feed and wrestling pigs.
suzy: what are you planning for art week? that seems like your element.
Text || Elaine & Suzy
Elaine: Suzy Q! We've both been such busy bees, I feel like we haven't had ANY girl time lately! Wanna ditch camp for a night and hang at my place?
Suzy: I would absolutely love that, Ellie! I feel as though I haven't seen your parents in months. I hope they don't feel as though I do not like them!
suzy && bas
bas: oh? then i would never work. i never feel tired. maybe after running. i hate running.
suzy: i enjoy hard physical labor, but i don't see the point in running either! there's no rhyme or reason for it.
suzy: though.. on this campus with all the craziness, maybe there is a reason to run fast.
suzy โ spencer
Spencer: It did? That's cool, that you have something that important to yourself.
Spencer: I couldn't imagine being homeschooled - my parents probably wouldn't have had the patience for it. I can imagine. I guess being here is a massive change for you. I did, yeah. Always been here in Lima. I thought about going to a college in a different state, but I talked myself out of it.
Suzy: Being honest, I was truly shocked with the amount of people that go to McKinley that don't identify as heterosexual.
Suzy: Everyone in my family has been, so I suppose it was just the normal way of living for us. Are you glad that you made the decision to stay instead of going elsewhere? I was.. limited in my choice of places to attend but I do really enjoy McKinley. At least, more than I did at first.
suzy โ z
z: uhhhh... that shit all sounds like stuff i've read in women's articles and shit. you know what i'm talking about?
z: that's pretty sick. did you have like animals and shit?
suzy: i don't think i have actually ever read a magazine, no.
suzy: yes we did! I used to love working with the cows, and especially helping with the new births in the springtime. we once had a goat birth triplets and it was incredible!
suzy โ spencer
Spencer: It's always good to grow, we basically spend our whole lives growing and changing. It's a good thing. You're a religious person? Does it help? Praying, having faith? That sounds nice. Did you like growing up there?
Suzy: Coming to McKinley certainly forced a lot of that out of me.. But yes, my relationship with Him is very important to me.
Suzy: I grew up homeschooled and constantly surrounded by my large family and it was really nice having that solid unit. Something I am definitely missing while being here, so it is a big change. Did you grow up in Lima?
suzy && bas
bas: yes, i have. though the obligation is absolutely tiring. i never thought that working such regular hours would drain me so much.
suzy: my father always says that if you aren't exhausted when you finish a day of work, you didn't really work at all!
suzy && bas
bas: oh, okay okay. ummm, thank you! and yes, i know i've taken on my internship this summer. i just hope that it is all for something.
Suzy: how has it been going? A couple of weeks in, Iโm sure youโve settled into the pace.
suzy โ z
z: uhhh, that sounds lame? why not just go to the store and get it? i know it like taste better or whatever, but i'm pretty sure like leaves still taste like leaves.
Suzy: pesticides, unnecessary additives, unfair labor laws, unethical profit margins.
Suzy: I grew up on a farm.
parisianartisticโ:
this marks the second year that iโve missed the dear festivities in france. however, this is no day to be disappointed because when i went to my motherโs houseโ i found my aunt! i absolutely cannot wait until we set off the fireworks tonight.ย
Oh, Iโm so happy for you! Iโm not sure what celebration youโre missing out on but how nice that she made the travel here to spend it with you.
suzy โ z
z: uhhh, yeah sure! but that shit sometimes get boring, because it doesn't change? idk, my parents always took care of the house plants.
suzy: i suppose its different if you're growing them for the crop. getting vegetables or produce at the end of the season is a different experience entirely.
suzy โ dani
dani: I think it's safe to assume that you'll probably be safe from any offers.
suzy: The only thing i have consumed is whatever was in those fire fumes last week. That could not have been healthy.
suzy โ open
Spencer: That would be fun, it seems like you'd be someone good to work with. I've never been the biggest fan of it, but I also don't pass up many opportunities if they present themselves to me. Where's home?
Suzy: A few months ago, no one would have said that but I like to think that I have.. grown as a person. Truly, I've just been praying a lot. I'm from a small town in Georgia, on my family farm.
