It had started six months ago when Carol decided their marriage would be different. One quiet evening she had simply taken his clothes, locked them away, and fitted him into thick plastic-backed Pampers like the ones she used on their real baby years earlier. Night after night she reinforced the new rules until Mark (once a grown man who paid the mortgage) accepted that he would live as her diapered, dependent baby full-time. She moved his crib into the converted nursery, stocked the shelves with powder and lotion, and made it clear there would be no more adult underwear, no more privacy, and no more say in the matter.
Now, on a bright mid-morning in 1984, the nursery door stands wide open. Pale blue curtains stir in the breeze. Inside the adult-sized white crib, Mark kneels bare-chested in nothing but a heavy, sagging Pampers and white anklets, both hands gripping the top rail. His face is red and wet, mouth open in a thin, high whimper.
A thick yellow stain is already spreading across the front of the diaper. Behind him the padding darkens and swells as soft, unmistakable "plop-plop" sounds fill the quiet room.
Carol leans against the doorframe in her robe and rollers, coffee mug in one hand, watching without any attempt to close the door or lower the blinds.
“That’s it, baby. Let it all out for Mommy. No holding, no hiding, not in this nursery. Morning nap means a full, messy diaper every single time.”
Mark’s thighs tremble. Another warm rush soaks the front while more soft mass pushes into the seat. The plastic crinkles loudly with every shift.
Carol’s voice stays calm and absolute.
“Look at you. A grown man reduced to a squalling, stinking infant right here where anyone walking past the open window can see and hear. This is exactly what I made you. You wet. You mess. You stay on display until Mommy decides otherwise. Keep going: I want that diaper heavy and warm before I even think about changing you.”
He sobs harder, hips jerking as the last of it empties into the already loaded Pampers, the unmistakable babyish smell rising between the bars.
Carol just watches, smiling.
