I’m finished with the fourth chapter of AAWHCB, but I’d like to finish the fifth before publishing to make sure the pacing is on track. I’ll try to work on after today, hopefully I can finish it up this weekend
Finally got a bulletin board for all my fan made goodies!!! :)) and there’s plenty room in case I get any more. Now I just need to figure out how to get my buttons on there…
14. Any favorite motifs
MOTIFS!!!! YES I HAVE A FAVOURITE!! Wild abandon and freedom motifs, usually in artworks with a character flying free in the sky, running wild in the wilderness, exploring the ocean. I love the feelings it makes me feel.
And kind of similar to freedom and wildness: pondering the unknown. Alone in a vast landscape, staring up at the stars, pondering something. Now im realising those motifs show up in my own art everywhere!
For me, WH wins all the way! The character designs are amazing and the characterizations are so charming! I love each and every one of the neighbors, and we get a lot of time to get to know them—unlike Poppy, where so many new characters are introduced and killed off before we get to know them. WH is so much more intentional and genuine with its characters and story. The characters feel integral to the lore, and not just like they exist to service a drawn out story (like seriously, so many characters are introduced and killed off in the same chapter…). At this point in time, there is still so much left of the WH story to learn and I am invested! Poppy has become so stale that I’m just waiting for it to end; they are sacrificing quality for profit and the story (and lore by proxy) is suffering as a result
What did you guys do during the anti shapes inc day off?
I spent the entire day volunteering at a primary school, it was surprisingly fun. I got to move a giant shelf of books into boxes so that they could be moved (it was relaxing and i got to exercise). A little kid wandered over to me during the lunch break and started talking about how unfair it is that the older grades dont get as much library time as the younger do (which is SO UNFAIR, i want to steal the currently available librarian position so i can fix that!). Someone found a stick bug and i became the guardian of a tree that the stick bug and a big bearded dragon climbed into (some of these kids r so gremlin they were hunting wildlife like tiny cavepeople lol). The cutting and laminating i did at the end of the day was super boring, but i was In The Zone™ once i put my headphones on played my favourite playlist.
I then proceeded to drop dead and sleep for 14 hours once i got home, i have never felt so rested before <3
Aww, that sounds so fun! My day was very practical, just work, exam, then working on a bunch of stuff I have due this week and am stressed over 😓 at least the boycott made Tumblr one less distraction lol
And ofc I enjoyed time with my cat. She's such a strange little creature. Oh, and I cooked dinner! Some vegetable stew 😋 (or, as I used to call it, beefless beef stew lmao. The original recipe has beef in it but I hate cooking meat)
Hey so I thought we as userbase should organize spontaneous blackout protest against shapes inc ads here. I thought Feb 26th would be a good date (so ppl has 72 hrs notice if they want to participate), we would log off for 24hrs to show tumblr we are not okay with that (and also for shapes to get less ad revenue for a day in a process lol). Tag would be 'anti shapes inc protest'
