Random Reaction [Heart-Brain]
Got cut off from doing my other important works while reading some article.. Then I had to share it it. It's too long to share to someone, so I just had to write it immediately. :P So it's a reaction on:
"The brain knows facts, the heart knows meaning." (some excerpt that caught me in an article about deep shiy [sic] stuff that I shouldn't even be reading because I've tons of work to do. I digress, again haha)
It's some silly clichè. Why do we associate the feelings of, say, 'love' with the heart when, for a fact, it's all in the mind? -- literally. All adrenaline, oxytocin, and seratonin, gather in the brain. Science can explain how the brain works when we try to define what these abstract feelings are. So what does the heart got to do with it?
Maybe some feelings are so incomprehensible, with emotions awestruck and amazed, it clouds you, leaves all your hormones into work? Every chemical in your body, all the rush in the blood would lead to the beating of your heart. Maybe that's it? Every time you feel something that's refreshing, or as others would put it: 'a feeling of being alive' when you are in the truest fact, alive -- the heart beats. But it's just, really a surge of some adrenaline, a mixture of oxytocin when you're happy, and many other chemicals running wild in your body in that moment of elation.
I'm just intrigued in the language of faith and science. Science lays out facts while your Faith puts meaning to these facts. The Universe is the biggest fact that we have but is there more beyond that? Or should we even bother knowing what's beyond the Observable Universe and it's creation? Or the Creator, if there is one? What does that make me if I put all my faith in proven facts? Or what does that make me if I put my faith in the unknown?
Should I be even thinking about what's beyond the known limits of our knowledge? What could be greater than believing that there is someone who created all of this? It's just confounding.
You spend time thinking about it. But should I be consumed by it? Of course I'd have to be consumed by it if I want to know more, right?
Maybe a lot quit in knowing and just put faith in believing in something grander than what's in a Science text book.
I don't know. We don't know that much.
Update me when you have answers. :P
Hay, thank you Tumblr for listening to me and having time to absorb my *Thesaurus: search for 'stupid'* uhm, 'dunderheaded' thoughts. HUHU I used to share talks with certain people but meh, they're preoccupied or busy with the Pope (current happening). Dunderheaded, oh. Haha, "dunderheaded". :P
