Thoughts of "Chef Illini"

Hi everyone, announcement time.

So over the past couple weeks I’ve been seriously thinking about the future of the comic. As I often mention, I created this story when I was 15, so while I have a lot of love and nostalgia for this world and characters I don’t feel like it really represents who I am right now and I always feel stuck when thinking about the longevity of the story.

After a period of intense deliberation, I have decided to stop working on Thermohalia, and put my efforts into developing a new comic project. I’m thinking of reinterpreting and reworking Thermohalia from the ground up, but I’m also open to discovering an entirely new story.

I’ll be taking some time to research, world-build, design, and plan out a new comic. If you’re interested in following this process, join me over at the development tumblr: Project Protea

I randomly chose that project codename from a picture of a flower, but it turns out the Protea flower is a symbol of transformation so it’s kind of fitting!

For the past three nights like clockwork, just before I drift off to sleep, I stare at the nothingness that is my ceiling. That is when Jerry, the thimble-sized spider decides to makes his decent and then crawl off just out of arm's reach. He's got nothing to gain by this. Maybe I should call an intervention. Anyway, the current agreement is for each of us to do our own thing without any sass or webs in the face.

Spongebob Quotes

It's amazing what I can say to my mom, no matter how weird it is, and pass it off as a Spongebob quote. It started with telling her about "The best time to wear a stripped sweater." I started experimenting with other phrases such as "The worst shoes are purple shoes" and "Land ho! Borgy norgy fillibuster" I need to get more creative. My phrases are lame.

I told my mom that she was a saint and that I would get Pope Franny to canonize her in a few years. Her response was "Gee, thanks." I think she was humbled by that, guys.

Stranger Notes

I've been on a streak of writing notes on post-its and leaving them in various places of my friends' stuff. The twist is that they are all fake quotes from celebrities. Here are some of my favorites: "I'll get ya next time" - The Grinch

A few have been successfully blamed on others, but I think everyone knows it's me.

I just read that Sean Thornton got fined. For what? Did he not follow the Marquess of Queensberry rules against Danaher?

My friends and I play this hockey video game often and when we play each other, there is a chance that we can organize a shootout (if you tie and the end of the game + overtime is how it is set up for this game). The thing is, one person always asks the other in sort of a concession saying they can't win the game, so why not rig it so they can tie it up so they can do a shootout that doesn't happen that often. My friends decide to ask for a shootout too late in the game (10 seconds left for 2 goals which doesn't even happen in real life). Today, I challenged my roommate, but asked in song, changing the words from Frozen's "Do you want to build a snowman?" to "Do you want to have a shootout?" My roommate has stopped speaking to me.

Imagine a hero that has amazing powers of the mind (I'm talking about telepathy and telekinesis ). He/She only has access to these powers when they are peeing. What a story that would make. Our hero would mainly fall back to a fluid diet and learn to control their digestive system in ways that make urination an art form.

My roommates have already shitcanned this idea.
