((so cabin fever’s got me pretty bad so i decided to revisit this RP blog with a new batch of muses. please make sure to check the muses page in the blog header for more info))

Deepak, since your such a car lover and have no major prejudices against them and all. Do you see yourself possible falling in love with a cat or kitten someday among having an relationship with one that you have a genuine connection with? Do you think your family also your big brother would approve of said relationship or not, like would they be okay with you being in love with a feline.

“If the universe guides me towards a potential feline mate, then I would absolutely be willing to start a life with them. Even if we can’t have a child together, there are plenty of stray animals on the street who would love to be adopted into a loving interspecies home.”

“As for whether or not my family would approve, that’s hard to say. I’d like to believe they’d all be accepting, especially since Brother Dylan now claims to respect cats. However, there’s always a hint of uncertainty there. I can only hope that, one way or another, the universe will look out for me and make sure everything turns out alright.”

Deepak began whimpering worriedly.

“Do you really want to keep going along with this, then? There’s no way you can opt out of it, is there? They can’t just…go in and remove all of this? I don’t want anything bad to happen to you, Dylan.”

“Doctor Mitchell said he could deactivate it , but…”

Dylan paused..yes it could be dangerous.. but that’s why he had this power suit, but this was a chance to actually realisticly travel to space one day…

“This might be the one shot at being an astronaut I’ll ever get…”

“The first dog to set paws on the moon.. maybe even mars..And… if I just quit after everything..  I guess I don’t want to let them down..”

Deepak sighed.

“I can understand you feeling that way. It really is admirable how tightly you hold onto your dreams. I don’t want to stop you from following your bilss, brother, but...I do hope you’ll think this through and be careful about it. I wanna support you, but...”

“...if anything ever happened to you...I...”

Deepak also sniffed his double as he circled around him. Yep. There was no mistaking it. The very same blend of pet-safe organic sandalwood and lavender that was in his own shampoo.

“Ohhh…my…stars…This is really happening, isn’t it? But how!? I’ve always wanted to find myself, but…I didn’t think the universe would take it this literally.”

☯ “I feel as though I should be asking you all the same questions mate.”

Deepak stood perfectly still on all four yin/yang colored paws allowing the other to sniff and look him over. If this other form of himself was not strange enough lately a lot of strange things were appearing to happen around his town.  

“You have found me. May I suggest we be all poetic and just lose our minds together?”

Deepak chuckled nervously, just barely trying to mask how freaked out he was.

“Eheh...Sounds like a plan, other me...It could end up being a very enlightening experience.”

Deepak felt guilty that he couldn’t be more excited for his older brother, but his anxious mind was overflowing with concerns.

“I don’t know, Dylan. I mean…are you sure this is safe? What if they’re up to something sinister? What if they want to use you for something…dangerous?”

“I’d be lying if I said I didn’t have concerns about this myself”

“After all.. this stuff is literally connected to my body” He didn’t want to mention that Dr. Mitchell had said that if the Nanotechnology had failed when it first showed effects.. he might not be around anymore.. It was a risk.. but none of the humans he had met  in relation to the project gave him any real reason for distrust.

“Technically a space flight by itself us dangerous”

“Adding the planed tasks Dylan is supposed to do and the tools given..”

“Yes, it might be pretty dangerous”

Deepak began whimpering worriedly.

“Do you really want to keep going along with this, then? There’s no way you can opt out of it, is there? They can’t just...go in and remove all of this? I don’t want anything bad to happen to you, Dylan.”

Deepak continued on with his yogic breathing, when a very…familiar smell began to waft into his nostrils.

He tried to ignore it at first and remain centered, but it just kept confusing him. He gently opened one eye and saw what appeared to be…himself.

“Am…Am I having some sort of out-of-body experience?”

☯ “Whaaat-You, having an out of body experience? Are you? What about me my calm compadre? Where’d you get that shampoo I would have sworn had I smelt you ovah a second time you smell just like me. With the Essential Scents.”

Deepak walked around the doubleganger on all fours sniffing around him.

Deepak stood staring in awe for a moment, then shook his head to bring himself back to his senses.

“H-human scientists? Wait…When did that happen? I don’t remember seeing any humans around here recently.”

“A few weeks ago… shorty after I ran into you when I was shrunken… One of the Humans.. Dr. Mitchell… Knocked at the door and explained everything to me.. why my size changed back then..  They wanted me to test pilot this suit.. and make me an astronaut.. He could even understand me..”

Dylan sighed

“I still wish they had told me about it before fiddling around with me.. I would have considered it anyway….”

The doctor had told him that they had decided to not ask him beforehand, fearing he would decline even though he was the best test pilot for the C.E.U. He sighed again.

“Well.. I guess I can’t really complain… This suit is pretty cool and Dr. Mitchell promised I’d get the chance to fly to the moon.. maybe even Mars!”

And suddenly his zen flew straight out the window.

Deepak was in such shock that he couldn’t even scream. All that came out of his mouth were choked-out syllables as he tried to process this situation.

His frazzled mind just barely managed to produce a single word:

“D-D-D-Dyl…Dyl…Dyl…an…!?”

Both Dogs gasped as they heard the voice naming one of them. They tilted their heads towards the source, spotting their brother.

Unfortunatly for Dylan.. his shock moment caused the inbuild scanner to activate.. going with the color scheme of his suit’s new design and causing his eyes to glow brightly in red as he looked at his little brother.

“D-Deepak… What.. are you doing in here.. already?”

Dawkins was the first who managed to speak between the two of them

“D-D-D…D-D-D…”

Deepak’s panicked expression became a scowl as he glared over at Dawkins.

“Dawkiiiiins…Explain, please…”

As the realisation kicked in and the scan yielded nothing of danger.. Dylan’s eyes quickly returned to their normal look. He sighed

“I was hopding to keep it secret for just a bit longer..”

He wished he could just easly change back to make explaining easier.. as right now it probably looked like he was replaced by some sort of robot…  He could make excuses.. but telling the truth would probably end up being the better option.

“You see.. Uhm.. remember when I ran into you and my size kept changing?”

“It turned out that was caused by a test, run by some human scientists to test this.. suit. A… side effect?”

He looked down at himself, the armor that covered his fur.

“I told you…  If I put it on.. I have to wait to change back for at least a day!”

Dylan had already received the makeover that allowed him to look much more like himself, still.. if the other pups saw him like that, it could be the cause of confusion or even panic.

“Please, Dylan! I just have to know how this suit functions Just imagine all the things this could open up for Dog-kind to understand human technology on that level!”

The younger pup had been the first to be told about the changes to his older brother by the space agency a while back. Of course with how impressive that technology was, Dawkins just had to study it.

Dylan sighed. “ugh.. Alright..  but if anyone asks… it’s one of your inventions, not done by some humans..”

Dylan raised his paw to his star pendant and poked it, the necklace began to glow for a moment as he felt the sting of the important nano components being injected.

“This is just not getting more fun”

Alongside the pain followed by the little prick, the suit began forming around his body, starting from his chest all across his body, untill everything was covered in the sort of robotic look of the C.E.U. suit.

Deepak was headed back inside the Dalmatian home. He’d just enjoyed a nice yoga session in the backyard and was feeling incredibly relaxed.

He cheerfully trotted through the back door and into the living room, blissfully unaware of what he was about to encounter.

In front of the little pup there were his step-brothers. One of them looking more like a robot than a living being.

“I hope you’re ready… I don’t know how the others would react if they saw me like this.. At least so suddenly.”

Dylan wanted to be cautious about it.. after all.. the suit still carried some weaponry and he was just comfortable in using it in controlled environments… a few dozen pups being excited about it could make stuff un-controlled quickly.

It was a warm spring day, and the Dalmatian family was on an outing to the park.

While the other pups were playing around elsewhere, Deepak found a quiet, private spot to meditate. He sat beneath the shade of a large tree in lotus position with a blissful expression on his face.

“Ah…It’s so nice to have a quiet moment to find myself…”

☯ The yin yang fur-coated puppy walked into the same grass as the other sniffing the air. For he could have sworn his smell was so overpowering and he did not remember adding extra fragrance today. It was very strange, to say the least! What could it mean?

The sight of his older brother looking slightly calmer helped Deepak calm down as well.

“Of course! The universe has to get it right at some point, right?”

“I sure hope so..  Well.. I guess it could be worse, right?”

Dylan tried to see the positive.. at least he didn’t have the danger of being trampled to smitherines by his younger siblings..  He could probably now even off them rides?
