“Make an island of yourself, make yourself your refuge; there is no other refuge. Make truth your island, make truth your refuge; there is no other refuge.”

The Paradox
Maleficent trees deteriorate slowly, A stagnant wind ached of melancholy, in the hours of early morning I was never lonely. I sat quietly in the stillness of a ghost-grey sky, staring into the depths of a distorted mind, you were merely a shadow in the night. In the darkness, a sinister beauty, to deconstruct perception, I’ll walk beside conformity. A frightfully dangerous and solitary path, the ember left in smoldering ash, amidst the autumnal-equinox, I am the paradox.

To be a spring morning.
To place
the cool fog adorning
Our lake
The sounds of hope and hunger
from the songbirds among her
gently swaying trees
when the southwest breeze
returns
to replace
that fog and freeze
with warmth
and care
and ease.
