SGT. PEPPER’S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND
The musical papers that we used to read started to slag us off because we hadn’t done anything. It took five months to record Sgt. Pepper. I remember with great glee seeing in one of the papers, “Oh, the Beatles have dried up. There’s nothing coming from them. They’ve been in the studio and they can’t think of what they’re doing.” I was sort of sitting and rubbing my hands saying, “You just wait.” – Paul McCartney, 1992
