Set during World War II in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg, Russia). The story follows Tatiana Metanova, a young, idealistic Russian woman, and Alexander Belov, a soldier in the Red Army, whose love story unfolds against the backdrop of the brutal Siege of Leningrad.
This book was truly breathtaking—beautiful, emotional, and heartbreaking. It's undoubtedly one of my favourite 💔 🥹 That being said, there are some trigger warnings to be aware of :
Trigger Warnings: abuse (physical, verbal, emotional), grey area consent, and talk of suicide.
