i wish people would stop conceiving of “science” as this apolitical, humanless entity without any agenda or guidance or intervention. like please god i really don’t care if you’re an atheist and “believe in science” or whatever but everything we do, including scientific research and reasoning, is influenced by politics and biased due to human involvement, doubly so when researchers must be funded to conduct their research. we’re not suddenly beyond the same racist, misogynistic, transphobic, etc. scientific findings of our past and we cannot assume research currently being conducted or categorizations currently considered etched in stone are without bias, prejudice, or malice.
